Both are reponsible for some musical goodness but obviously they are probably better known for being really arsey old bastards.
The rule is: you can't let both of them die. Well you can, but you have to at least attempt to save one.

I voted to save Sting. His songs are more hummable than Morrissey (Johnny Marr was the talent in the Smiths anyhow) and I'd rather be shagged by him.

Good point. And nothing the Smiths ever did was quite as great as Message In A Bottle. Although Sting was a twat to Gwen Stefani when she was younger.

It's a close call, but Morrissey gives me the heebie jeebies way more than Sting does and at least Sting was in Quadrophenia, even if he slightly ruined it. Plus you can have a big old laugh by calling Sting "Stinge".

Sting wrote "Cant stand loosing you", Morrisey did not. Sting is saved.

Sting also wrote "Walking On The Moon", "Spirits in The Material World", "Syncronicity" etc. etc.
I was discussing with chums just the other day how odd it is that The Police haven't been musically rediscovered and made hip again, in the way that so many far lesser 80's bands have been.
Presumably that's beacuse Sting kind of blew it all with his solo career, and general worthiness, which deems his to be unspeakably unhip, tarring The Police with the same brush at the same time.
Screw that though, the time is definitely right for a Police revival.

I'm happily suprised at so much sting love, there's normally snorts of derision when his name is mentioned.
When they go would they take their back cateloge with them? I'd hate to loose The Smiths but Morrisey is such a whinger and that whole thing over the money means bye bye Moz.

Every single Smiths song ever is quite clearly superior to anything Sting has ever been involved in... but I'd rather sleep with Sting, although is that an option once I've saved him?

Well done on such a tough question. Hmmm, I would save Morrissey because he doesn't seem quite so smug.

Stop saving Sting! Sting is an idiot with a floaty voice and many, many annoying songs. The Police were way unbetter than The Smiths, and Sting doesn't take his clothes off or act like a cunt to Jonathan Ross. Morrissey wins by default, even if you lot can't see that.

Go Morrissey! November Spawned A Monster is pure genius.
Although David Bowie versus them both would be a different option altogether.

I do hate Sting, but Morrissey's face and general demeanour just gives me the creeps. It's the eyebrows, the whiney voice, the tired persona and his blind determination to have a quiff when he has virtually no hair. Morrissey seems to be more in my face right now, whereas Sting may as well be dead. Sting's wife is also fabulously average-looking for a rock wife and she wore a hideous Versace wedding dress, but she doesn't give a fuck because she has tantric sex for 9 hours at a time with Sting.

There is actually a Tribute To The Police album coming out with punk bands covering them but its not very good at all. it can't be any worse than this little monstrosity: hundred reasons, million dead and yourbandnameis:shit alongside countless other non-entities all on the same cd. it doesn't bear thinking about, really. still, my vote goes to morrissey, if only for 'the never-played symphonies'... ...and tatu have yet to cover 'do do do do, de da da da'. cheerio!

I don't really like Morrissey, but Sting is one of those celebrities who I really hate for no actual reason, so I voted for Mozza.

Morrissey is an evasive, possibly unpleasant curmudgeon whose solo career has seen him churn out album after album of the 'put three tracks on repeat and skip the rest nature'. He has also flirted unpleasantly with far right politics and has an unhealthy fascination with skinheads. However...Sting wrote When We Dance, which is a far worse crime by anyone's standards. Consequently, he's getting this instead of water.

I voted to save Sting. His songs are more hummable than Morrissey Phil Collins songs are hummable too, doesn't make them any good. Morrissey brought attention to that neglected artform, yodelling. In fact, anyone who can have a career singing in the style of Mr Bean yodelling deserves respect. He is also responsible for 'Every Day Is Like Sunday' which encapsulates every holiday I have ever had within the confines of the British Isles. Also, being a contradictory bugger and singing about how crap America is ('America Is Not The World') but then going back to live in America is much better than being as bland and dull as Gordon is. Sting, however, told the world how he can shag his wife for three days straight thus making him the scourge of men everywhere Despite Mozzers solo career being kinda crap, it doesn't rub shit in the eyes of its former band in the same way Stings does. I'm sure people will have been put of listening to The Police (who were excellent) due to the involvment of Sting whereas people have been interested in The Moz and then worked backwards In summary: Moz = not as good as he was Sting = a bland excuse for a recording artist living on past glories who releases albums of bland monotony

Morrissey, because he'd never do an arselicking filmed "tribute" to Bob Geldof for the Brits.
