FYROM:
Don't they usually abreviated it to FYR, but they have it written out as the full Former Yugoslav Republic. I bet the Greeks made them do that. She can't dance in those shoes.
Yay, she changed into Macedonian at the end!

Can anyone give me a list of all the countries that're singing in the semi final?

Monaco was cute. As was one of the boys. I had to give an extra point to Anzej (Ann-Jez apparently) for being so sweet. Macedonia works too. BF loved Slovenia, and oddly Belarus.

Macedonia: Her backup dancers are not dressed very sexily, but I guess it is always better to dress better than your backup dancers. The performance felt like it was missing something but because of neighborly voting and the butt-shaking at the camera it'll do well.

FYROM:
My mum always told me that if you wear a low cut top you cover your legs up, and if you show your legs off you need to hide the cleavage a bit. There is such a fine line between trashy and hooker and I think she is on the edge there.....
... and it did detract from the music. I'm sorry.
Why does that 'rapping' Polish bloke remind me of the Head of Maths where I work? And he was off sick today ( I had to cover him). The plot thickens......

Poland:
Nooooooooo! Not sign language! The man with green hair can't sing. And he looks like Tony from Hollyoaks. I like the man being in the audience.

Macedonia was good. The two dancers at the beginning were a bit fat though. I'm generally pro-Balkan this year. So glad she went into Makedonski at the end. Didn't realise she was going to do that.
Poland - awful, shouty.

Poland: Trying to be weird like the opening number with masks and costumes. I see they carried through on the five languages threat. On the plus side, Lordi is a little less scary-seeming after seeing this.

Russia, yay:
That was a typical Dima performance. He tends to over perform I find, a bit too intense. I wasn't that impressed.

Russia: I've never seen a live performance of this before, so I just realized that he makes weird facial expressions. The whole mullet-undershirt-jeans-white sneakers look is not working for him. At least he has energy?

Dima - Pity about the mullet.
But dear god he's fit. And he knows it.

Turkey. Anna Nicole Smith with bad tattoos squeezed into a cheap ice-skating dress.
Sorry. I'm being really bitchy tonight. If you don't watch it ( ie listen from the kitchen) it's not that bad I guess......

Turkey: She looks lovely, and the dancers' star belt buckles are cute. I always expected that this would qualify, but didn't think it would actually be good. After actually watching the performance, I think this deserves to qualify.

The Turkish woman sounded in pain, not because of the language, but because of the awful singing.
The only ones I've rated so far are Annette and Kate Ryan, and Kate's vocals didn't impress me much. I quite liked the Ukrainian woman's song too!

Ukraine: She's very perky. The jump rope thing was a neat idea. Is it just me, or does the backing track sound a little different from the studio recording?

Finland.
Oi! Lordi singing bloke! Gene Simmons wants his boots (and his act) back.
It's got a chance, hasn't it?

Finland:
I think this sounds great on the studio version but live the vocals are rubbish.
Wings!!!!
The Ukrainian backing track was a bit more bangy and sticato than the studio version. Did anyone else think it sounded slightly like Helena's "My Number 1"?

Finland: Some of the shock value is lost due to Poland's freaky performance, but it was quite a show and it rocked hard as the song title implies. To qualify.
The green room part: Sakis is standing in front of Anzej. I wish he would move over a few feet...

God, that presenter is an annoying American bint! At least you only have to see her on TV this week. I have to see her on TV all the time. Netherlands: Treble!!!!!!! No chance of qualifying but they try so hard and that makes me like them. I really wanted them to magically get better and do well. But they sound horrible and them walking from drum to drum is not interesting. Why? I had high hopes for them (I even had a dream that they won, although it was closer to a nightmare)
