Sorry Robbing, but I agree with Danny about Paddy. He sounds like he still gives a shit, which is nice. To be honest I have a bit of a soft spot for him, but god knows where I got it.

I too have a soft spot for Paddy though his comments do vere towards bitchy on occassion. Mr Wogan gets the balance right between taking the mickey and being affectionate. I;ll never forget his quip as Afro-dite arrived on stage in metallic dresses, "three oven ready turkeys"...

You guys might enjoy the Moopy.co.uk eurovision forum. We're heaving at the moment, but would enjoy some more opinions. There are four Belgian posters who are fuming! HERE. I can't believe Armenia made it!

Let me add three more. + Poor song + Not very well sung + He looked stupid. And Numanananananana, no, I don't like Armenia much either. I disagree on the first two. I can accept disagreeing on the first one, it's a matter of opinion´(I used to quite like the song, but went off it). I haven't been going on about Denmark for the past two months on this message board. I do like it, but it's not my favourite, and I don't expect it to do very well either.

Well I'm just Gutted for Kate... It was easily one of the best songs of the evening. The performance was not perfect no, but it was energetic and Kate looked amazing. Did anyone else notice that her mic level seemed to fluctuate? At one stage her voice was booming through rather unpleasantly, the next second she was just blending in with the backing vocals. Her draw was a little unfavourable i feel considering most of the real stand out tracks came after her. I'm still absolutely stunned that the people of Europe deemed utter ear assaulting Lithuania and Armenia (amongst others) better than Belgium. It kinda throws the whole bloody thing open to think that a dead cert like Je T'adore can't sweep aside a dozen or so average tunes to make the final on Saturday.
Estonia. This blatantly should have gone through too... Sandra gave a solid vocal performance and looked amazing.
Slovenia. Anjez is such a cutey and the track is sooooo catchy it beggars belief that it stalled.
Its up to Carola (Amazing - only she could get away with such a cliched over the top romp as her performance) or Tina Karol ( proving to be a dark horse i feel) to kick some ass on Saturday.

I wish Estonia had made it but it had a bad draw being after Carola. It was a bit Sweden for beginners. The song is great and the performance couldn't have been better, but it needed a different slot.
I'm praying to Baby Jaysus for Carola or Texas Lightning or even Fabrizio Fannypad to win.

I like Paddy's commentary - last year I was extremely disappointed by Wogan; it was like he just didn't care. In this day and age, I'd quite like to have the choice of whether or not we hear Paddy or Terry, or no commentary at all!

POOR Belgium! But I wasn't overly surprised in the end, I did have 15 entries in my top 10 after all. The only one I was truly surprised about after seeing the show was Turkey - bad song badly performed. It must just be down to friendly voting because it certainly wasn't on merit. A bit for Estonia but otherwise fairly happy with the result. Really pleased for Brian Kennedy, a great result for Ireland. As for Carola - does anyone feel that they *love* it and *hate* it at the same time? It's really quite odd. I can really see it going all the way now which would be BAD for the image of Eurovision IMHO, too camp, too dated, too Eurovision! I would probably åka till Sverige though to practise my lingo. I can't possibly call the result on Saturday - I have a top 12 and a bottom 12, but as for the order I've no idea. My absolute favourite is Romania but it's screaming out "come close but not close enough". I've put £30 of bets on UK, Romania to win and Ireland, Norway and Malta each-way. Got Malta at 100/1 !! Ridiculously long odds on such an obvious top tenner. I reckon I'll at least make my money back.

No. I just love it! I think the thing with Sweden is that... it's a perfect Swedish entry. It's such a good representation of Melodifestivalen and of the Swedish pop scene. My main problem with Eurovision at the moment is that so many countries just enter songs they think other people will vote for. Just enter something that represents the country! Sweden are proud of their pop and Carola winning the contest would be a fabolous result for a nation that really try to enter what they feel is a worthy Eurovision winner!

As some Eurovision song came on random on my iTunes, I realized - wow, the Semi-finals were on 7 hours ago, I should check in to see what happened. And so I looked for Belgium...and kept looking...and kept looking........ I hope you could hear me screaming in New York, USA. I understand that sometimes the one-shot doesn't go as well as the rehearsals or the studio recording...and the little clip I saw in the "here's what you saw tonight" review on YouTube sounded a bit crap. But really, I am just simply horrified at Lithuania getting through. That is the only semifinal winner that I truly honestly cannot believe made it through. Does anyone have ANY thoughts as to how that could possibly have happened? I would have even taken Poland first!

I'm perplexed by Turkey too, it only really got going after the key change. I wonder how far away Albania was, because in theory they should have had just the same friendly vote working in their favour as Turkey (and Armenia). Not that I saw much of their song because that's when the pizza arrived. Totally understand the rest though, especially Lithuania stealing Silvia's thunder - sometimes less is more - and Carola/Tina murdering the Kate/Anzej vote. Buggered if I have a clue what's going to happen on Saturday night though. Probably Dublin 2007 at this rate...

Je n'adore pas l'eurovision! I am really disappointed because Kate's performance was excellent, one of the best during the whole of the semi final. The only thing I can put it down to is that not many people watch the semi final thus anything gets through...such as Lithuania! The people whose country is in the final do not need to watch the semi really so less people vote and again anything can get through. And there's probably something to do with political voting in there somewhere.
I think they should drop the semi final and just pick countries out of a hat after the end of the show for the ones which didn't get in the top whatever it is, they would save a lot more money by not having to do a semi shitty final.
Love Kate xxx

WHY! - ESC people look into it now!
Can't wait to see where the UK gave there points to.. I bet 12 to Ireland , and if not good points to Sweden, Iceland & Belguim, I will be very annoyed with this nation.
Poor Kate, she was holding back the tears on the Flemish interview. They should protest about the feet that appeared during her time, <cough> Greek sabotage

Bosnia-Herzegovina: It's Lane Moja all over again. Oooh, but it's really good at the end. I think Bosnia might win. The staging was absolutely superb - it stood out so much against all the others. It's a completely shameless retake on Lane Moje but I think this time it might go all the way.

I noticed this with a lot of them, watching them back this morning. For Slovenia, for Belgium, Iceland, even Sweden and Ireland. Ukraine was near perfect though and a true stand-out performance. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out this was in the top 4 of the semi. As for Carola - does anyone feel that they *love* it and *hate* it at the same time? It's really quite odd. I Yes. I love it. But I don't know that I want it to win. Christ, Carola will have us all converting if she does! A

Goodmorning. I've missed the show coz I was at work and for that I didn't vote either. I got home late at night, and watched it on the video. Thankfully my dad taped it for me. I feel devastated for Kate Ryan. She was so worthy of a place in the finals. I'm very sad Annete was left out. Her performance was a faultless act. I am really surprised Elena Risteska made it to the Final, since during her act she couldn't stop gasping. Am I only the only who heard this? On the other hand am happy Turkey made it to the final. Beautiful show. Am also very happy about Ireland and Bosnia Herzegovina. Both are two beautiful ballads. And finally I was pleasantly surprised for Carola PBUH. She was obviously the most professional performer of the night. She performed fabulously and proved she is able to transform a mediocre song to an Anthem. My only objection is that they should just keep the flag waving thing or the hands waving thing in the choreography. Keeping them both does not come across as classy as her own performance. On the whole, Europe should be ashamed for voting Lithuania. Lithuania is the proof that it's not Eurovision fans who vote, but families. And am really sad to say 2006 is gonna be another Maria Naumova or even Estonia year, where nobody is gonna remember the winning song a year later. Sadly, I somehow feel Lithuania is gonna win. Vilnius 2007 :zombie: And am sorry for Andorra too.

I quite liked Andorra. I liked the angry-girl-shouting-at-camera act near the end. Dancers were completely unnecessary.
