SUGABABE Heidi Range has revealed exclusively to Email that the band are lining up a couple of major collaborations on their next album. The girls - whose brilliant new single Red Dress is out tomorrow - are planning to record an album towards the end of the year. And Heidi, 22, hopes to work with some of her musical heroes. She said: "We need to do a collaboration on this next record. "We haven't done one yet because we have all these ideas, then as soon as we're in the studio we just forget about it. I'd love us to record something with the Scissor Sisters because they would fit really well with our sound. "Or Andre 3000 from Outkast - someone like that would be amazing to work with. "We'll just have to see what happens but we're really keen." The girls - Heidi, 21-year-old-Keisha Buchanan and new member Amelle Berrabah, 21 - are also planning a greatest hits album in 2006. Though Heidi realises this will spawn the inevitable rumours about the band splitting up, she insists they don't care - they're doing it to signal the end of an era since founder member Mutya Buena left in December. "The greatest hits is just to draw a line under the whole Mutya thing but there will be a couple of new songs on there too," she said. "I know we'll get all the rumours that we're splitting up because of the greatest hits - but we have had those rumours since I joined the band anyway." C/O www.sugababesweb.orgHow the hell are they going to do this? Re-record the songs? Or do you think they will just completely gloss over the fact that there were ever any other members like Destiny's Child did with theirs?

Am sure it will be the original versions up to "Ugly" then the new line up therafter, there would be murder if it was all re-recorded. It'll prob be like the first Bananarama greatest hits. I reckon it'll just be 'Overload' though from 'One touch'-
Overload Freak like me Round round Stronger Shape Hole in the head Too lost in you In the middle Caught in a moment Push the button Ugly Red dress
Plus, say 4 new songs?

You're probably right, they'll only bung Overload on there - and wouldn't surprise me if that was a 2006 re-record, but they'd probably leave the rest as they are.

You're probably right, they'll only bung Overload on there - Mutya and Keisha wouldn't hear of it. I think they'll put all of their singles on there, in original format aside from the Taller In More Ways singles. Given that they're re-releasing Taller In More Ways, they obviously see that album as the start of the Amelle era.

The band members will push for anything that they have writing credits for to go on a greatest hits. This would mean a few more from the first album wouldn't it?

Am sure it's about what Mrs Bloggs in tesco is more likely to buy, one with all the hits she knows or one with a few hits she doesn't know to confuse her, and 'Soul sound', 'New year' and 'Run for cover' just weren't all THAT big, plus the advertising can say "containing all the top ten hits (yes, I know 'shape' wasn't, but they'll pretend it was, quote the mi tracks top 10 or some shite) if they leave off the earlier post-overload pre-freak singles. The fans who buy it will want a few new songs too so something will have to give and nothing pos- freak can be left off.

They better NOT touch Overload. That was their first and best. I wonder if Siobhan will make any cash of off this?

Or is it just credited to "Sugababes"? I always wonder how those group credits work when they change members...do the royalties go to the members in the group at the time that song was written/released, or to whoever is in the group currently? I personally don't think it would be fair if Heidi got the money from Overload, or Amelle got all the money from the tracks co-written by Mutya.

The royalties go to those who wrote the song. Spice Girls were always credited as Spice Girls/Stannard/Rowe (for example) on the CD sleeve, but if you look in the sheet music greatest hits the songs credits (apart from Goodbye) all list the five members, and Goodbye lists the four.

They already have touched "Overload". Trevor Horn recorded a new version of it with Mutya, Keisha and Heidi in 2004! It just hasn't been released (yet).

Surely 4 news songs is a bit much if they intend to release a proper album shortly afterwards.

I would rather they released a new album first then concentrate on the singles collection, as it would save us all the stupid, lazy split rumours that are going to appear soon. I feel Amelle has reinvigorated the group and rather than concentrate on the past, we should hear a little of the future first.

That's why I thought 4 tracks would be too much.
I think they should release both albums by the end of the year - GH first then studio album. But then I'm not a realist.

I feel Amelle has reinvigorated the group and rather than concentrate on the past, we should hear a little of the future first. Yessum! Time to kick it into high gear and create an entire album of work with New Girl. And to an earlier poster, 'Taller In More Ways - Reissue' does not feature all new re-recorded vocals across the board. And it would be heinous to have Amelle re-record vocals for the sake of a Greatest Hits album. Mutya should kick all their asses if that even runs through the Sugas' minds. haha

They could definitely include Run For Cover aswell... Two new songs would be super, and then an entire album full please.

Can we have all 5 babes o the cover, please? Perhaps Mutya and Siobhan can have their backs turned to the others.

I can't believe they think a new version of Overload will serve fans better than the original. Siobhan's opening is what makes that track as amazing as it is - did anyone ever hear about the producers of One Touch being asked to never include Shiv on the mix sometimes by Ver Management? I always like to think Cameron McVey stuck her front and centre on Overload as the best musical FU in history.
Anyway, I hope the Babes will continue on - will we get V.4 one day without ANY of the original lineup? It will be re-recordmania!

Well with the collaborations it'd be interesting to see them try something they haven't done before. But with not including the One Touch stuff not having Soul Sound AND Run For Cover would be a CRIME!
