But we don't want those already Amelle-vocalled tracks as a single! I guess Island like Sugababes to keep their r&b tag, so after 2 not "urban" tracks they like to get back to that audience. Grrrr...
Here goes In The Middle mk2 then.

Whats wrong with it? Three was shit anyway, in my opinion they released the best songs from it.

they should end taller in more ways with a double a-side of gotta be you and now you're gone, and leave the blandness that is follow me home as an album track.

The singles review of 'Red Dress' in The Guardian said that the track was a retread of the much superior 'In The Middle'. I almost choked on my ethically-farmed eggs benedict. Not only are the two tracks wholly dissimilar, but 'In The Middle' has to be one of the biggest shitsacks ever released, let alone the worst Sugababe single by a country mile.

Seems as though the brilliant "Ace Reject" will be an album gem and never be released as a single. I think it's maybe best that way seeing as I'm in love with the utya version and really wouldn't know how Amelle would sound on it.
Regardless, what a waste of such a great song.

Actually the next single will be Follow Me Home. And that's direct from the record company, so unless they've changed their minds.......

They sometimes do. 'Gotta Be You' was first mooted as a single after 'Ugly' and 'Situation's Heavy' was on release schedules for a long time before being switched to 'In the Middle'.

I don't really mind either way, but I don't think Follow Me Home would do well this time of year. People are feeling randy and wanting to rip their clothes off, and as I've said, Gotta Be You *is* mighty fine for raunchy dancing.

According the people on the official Sugababes forum, Follow Me Home is eventually the next confirmed single.
The girls said this as an introduction for it at their latest gig.

Gotta Be You is the only track I ALWAYS skip when playing the cd. It's crap, wanna-be-Beyonce American crap radio crap. Awful. If they were smart, they'd re-record Ace Reject or Bruised (though I'd bump up the BPMs on this one).

This will sound like a pretty shitty reason, but I think it will be Follow Me Home, because at work the CDs (we get sent specific ones) have FMH on, and they usually have the next singles (had Red Dress, Madonna's Sorry, etc.)
I think Gotta Be You would be better for summer, personally! Even better would be Ace Reject or Bruised!
Grr, we need to hear the other 4 tracks Amelle said she recorded! Does anyone know what they were? I bet it was Ugly, Push The Button, Ace Reject and Obsession

I've never seen so many different opinions on one band or the singles they'll potentially released than with the Sugababes.
Almost everything I read here seems valid, so it's really confusing because there are so many varying thoughts on the girls.
As someone who enjoys very much some of the more pop or dance-leaning "Crunk+B" (in Canada, our Top 40 is greatly influenced by the US), I found GOTTA BE YOU to be right on par with the American stuff, if not it's at least more interesting because of the girls' vocals and their look.
A kickin' video like RED DRESS and I think GOTTA BE YOU will be a success. I'd love a AA-side with FOLLOW ME HOME or NOW YOU'RE GONE, but that seems unlikely...!

Obviously Ace Reject would be the perfect single to release, but since we know that won't happen, Gotta Be You is NOT a bad choice. I would actually consider it one of Taller In More Ways' highlight/standout tracks.
Fallow Me Home would only do well around Christmas really; it's not a bad song at all, just not a song to release until the Christmas time when people are wanting to hear slower, less produced tracks.

I don't violently dislike Gotta Be You. I can just see it doing better in America, if their intention is to try to 'crack' America this year, then it'd be a better choice.
I'd still rather it was Now You're Gone or Ace Reject.

If Three had been an Atomic Kitten album it'd be due praise simply by comparison, but a lot of it is some way beneath the Sugababes. We Could Have It All and Nasty Ghetto are a lot of fancy production without proper songs attached, Buster and Twisted are TLC-on-a-budget fillers, and as for In The Middle - were Xenomania even conscious at the time?
I'd have liked to see them be a bit daring and release It Ain't Easy or Bruised, as neither sound like anything they've done before. But they've already released the weakest song on the album (Ugly) so anything after that has to be a step up....

Ugly was TLC-on-a-budget, too. Meets Xtina-on-a-budget, too. Wasn't bad, for the ugly kiddies out there.

At this point I can't see them coming over to the States, at least for this album. If they were still coming, I would assume Amelle would have to record the entire album not just three songs as in the case of the crap re-issue.
Also, as many have pointed out, I can't see them releasing anything that doesn't have Amelle's vocals on it, it would be redundant for them to do so.

I also hate In The Middle but it's not their worst single. I give that honor to Shape followed by Angels With Dirty Faces (Yes I know, it was paired with Stronger but I'm not counting it).

I love In The Middle. And Long Hot Summer. Two Xenomaia tracks that most of you guys hate. Anyway on further lustens i have a feeling 'It Aint Easy' could do very well for them as i think it would grab the attention of the pop and r'n'b fans

Very well said. In The Middle was a horrendous choice for a single. I'm sure they were originally going to release something else.

I love In The Middle. It just seemed a little out of place on Three to me. I prefer Amelle's vocals on Gotta Be You to Mutya's. I wouldn't mind it as a single. I think Follow Me Home is a bit boring. It has grown on me but not in the same way Gotta Be You has. I always find myself singing Turn The Lights Down Low etc after listening to it. Its quite catchy. I think I am in the minority when it comes to In The Middle, Gotta Be You. Oh and Girls Aloud - Long Hot Summer.
