Push The Button was finally released in France last week (2 tracks singles with Favourite Song) and it entered today at #18 (2nd best new entry after Ricky Martin...)!
It's their 3rd release in France, after Round Round and Too Lost In You who both flopped.
The video and the song were getting airplays those last couple of months and this is it, they entered in the top 20. Songs usually climbs in french charts so a top 15 and even top 10 is possible!

Ridiculous? They are totally unknown here. I think it's a pretty good entry considering they didn't promote the song at all.
Plus, they are busy with the tour so I don't think they'll promote PTB here...

They should record it in French, what is French for 'Push The Button' anyway?
Babelfish tells me its 'Poussez Le Bouton'.

I think that would be fantastic! Really they should have remade the french version of Too Lost In You (Quand j'ai peur de tout? Was that it?) I don't know why it takes so long for stuff to be released and to chart in France? Daniel Bedingfield's If You're Not The One took about a year.

Oh god, don't tell me that the number one is one of those kiddy-dance (like Pinocchio and Ilona) versions of the Luxembourg eurovision entry from 1980... when will it stop! And isn't Dorothee a teen singer from the 80s?

Yeah... 2005 and 2006 have been the years of silly kiddy "music".
Btw, the Ricky Martin song is a duet with a french singer M Pokora. The top 10 is 80% french.

Well, it's always been like that in France? I don't really mind, I like french music, but there's nothing really here that I'm getting excited about that. I like how much the Dorothee song rips off the Vengaboys though.

What about her? She's always in the French charts. They've practivally adopted her. Not that they can pronounce her name.

I'd love it if they did a French version. When I lived in France I always sang English songs in French! It's so much fun - Wannabe was a particular favourite amongst my friends ..."si tu veut être mon amant ..."

Ouais*. They did a duet version of Boyzone's very first (and Ireland-only) single Working My Way Back To You (yes, that one).
*Yep.

What was that french girl band around fall '96 that sung in french and were like a TLC rip-off? And a huge breasted woman with a fab video of her jumping up and down, the title was 100% or something?

I always thought the Sugababes were popular all over Europe.
If they're not very popular in France, why does it have France listed on their Tour t-shirts as one of the countries they're visiting?

What?! They never promoted anything here?! Does that means they are finally promoting and maybe touring in France? *cums*

Tina's success in France is overrated.
In late 99 "Aller plus haut" went to no. 2 and was huge. "Les Trois cloches" in early 2000 did similarly well. The accompanying album (a combination of her 2nd and 3rd Australian albums) did similarly well.
In I think it was 03 she brought out "Just Me" (is that what it's called) and the accompanying single was "Tu es toujours la" - the single went to no.11 I think but dropped quite quickly and it really was a bit of a disaster.
"Aimer jusqu'a l'impossible" is doing really well though. If you want there's a really good video on YouTube of her singing it with a whole bunch of French singers at the NRJ Music Awards.
