I'm not really a Madonna fan. Some of her stuff I like a lot, but I think she's terribly variable in terms of actual quality. So a few tracks aside, I found Confessions desperately underwhelming on the whole.
Mind you, Superpop makes me wince every time I hear it.
Please someone, stop her writing lyrics.

I am also surprised by the backlash against 'confessions' on this board. I still think it's quite brilliant! I am also surprised she wrapping it up after 'Get Together', there are so many potential singles on that album. All of which could potentially be the first single for another artist see 'Isaac', 'Let it will be', 'Forbidden Love' etc.
Am I the only one who thinks 'How High' is great?
p.s. 'Get Together' will be a massive hit stateside, because it is essentially a faceless dance song ('Music sounds better with you') sung by one of the most familiar faces on the planet.

According to Nielsen SoundScan, 3rd best selling (download of course) single from COADF is Get Together, 20000 copies already. "Jump" is at #4 with 9000 copies.

I love How High aswell. One of my faves on the album. And aren't faceless dance songs sort of unpopular in the U.S.?

I stand for Get Together being a 3rd single, I think it's the best commercial shot of it. I have other personal favorites which is Push, Jump and Isaac but I dont think they would do well commercially - as if Get Together had any chance to do as well as Hung Up and Sorry...

And aren't faceless dance songs sort of unpopular in the U.S.? Only because they are faceless...if they were sung by Mariah/Whitney &c. they would be massive. Do you agree?

I don't actually, but I hope I'm wrong because I love Get Together. Also anyone looking for the (pretty short) setlist for M's appearance at Coachella can find it on MadonnaTribe. Also the I'm Going To Tell You A Secret movie has a release date: Madonna will release her documentary "I'm Going To Tell You a Secret" as a CD/DVD package June 13 via Warner Bros. The film, directed by Jonas Akerlund, chronicles the diva's 2001 Re-Invention Tour. The release will also boast a 14-song CD of music culled from the film and concert, including "Holiday," "I Love New York," "Like a Prayer" and a cover of John Lennon's "Imagine." The DVD will include never-before-seen footage from the documentary as well as the director's cut of Madonna's controversial music video for 2003's "American Life" single. The artist canceled the release of the original clip shortly before its U.S. premiere. Before the bow of "Secret," Madonna will hit the road with her Confessions Tour, beginning May 21 at the Forum in Los Angeles. First up is her first-ever festival appearance this weekend at Coachella in Indio, Calif. Details and artwork of the long awaited "I'm Going To Tell You A Secret" DVD have finally been made available to the media, and one exciting news for Madonna fans is that the new release will feature a special jem in its extra bonuses. The commercial release of the re-Invention tour documentary directed by Jonas Akerlund will not only include never-before-seen footage in its bonuse features, but also the director's cut of the American Life video will finally see the light of day. Back in December 2005, we had the chance to report that the tentative release date for "I'm Going To Tell You A Secret" was listed as a DVD+CD set. It has now been confirmed that "I'm Going To Tell You A Secret" will be made available in three formats: DVD, CD and Digital Music Download. The DVD will contain the documentary movie and includes live and stage performances of: Vogue American Life Mother and Father Nobody Knows Me Music Hollywood (Remix) Lament Like A Prayer Holiday Imagine Bonus Features include: Never before seen footage American Life video (director's cut) The CD will feature live songs from Re-Invention Tour and highlights from the documentary soundtrack: 01 The Beast Within 02 Vogue 03 Nobody Knows Me 04 American Life 05 I Love New York 06 Hollywood (Remix) 07 Die Another Day 08 Lament 09 Like A Prayer 10 Mother and Father 11 Susan MacLeod/Into The Groove Medley 12 Music 13 Holiday 14 Imagine There's a cover shot and more info on MadonnaTribe.com Soudns like a pretty cool package though doesn't it? Pity Drowne World Tour didn't get a similiar Live CD treatment..

It's great and long awaited news about the DVD. Madonna hasn't released one in nearly 5 years apart from rubbishy movies. Let's hope the Reinvention Tour DVD follows soon after though i can't see it.

Does anybody know if the unmixed version is available for retail purchase? I love the album but it kind of annoys me having all the songs blend into one.

I think both Jump and Get Together are OK...not my album faves, and a bit wishy-washy maybe. I think Get Together stands a better chance commercially though.
My faves are Sorry, Isaac and Push...but I don't see Isaac or Push getting single releases.

Fingers crossed. For contract reasons the re-Invention Tour couldn't be released on DVD until after I'm Going To Tell You A Secret had been released.

Was played at Wig Out on Saturday and the room went wild. I think it could do as well as the first two singles actually.

Bah... I never liked the album. I only ever liked select Madonna tunes, but was encouraged by Hung Up and bought it. Still haven't listened to it once through. I think it has a sort of claustrophobia-inducing yet boring effect.

I agree with Ambassador Stick Insect, the lack of love for 'Confessions...' here surprises me, since it's one of onyl two Madonna albums I like (the other being 'Ray of Light').
'Get Together' is awesome, though, I'm glad it's getting a release although I might prefer 'Push.' As a last single off the album, though, it's a good one, kind of fits in but tones it all down a bit, so it's a nice third one. I think it's also quite good she's only releasing three, she doesn't need to put out any more and I'm not that keen on the whole 'release every fucking song on the album' lark.

Me too - it's one of only two that I own (the other being Ray of Light). I really like "Get Together" so I hope it does well.

The only two songs that really stand out for me, again and again, are How High and Isaac. Isaac should be the next single.
I would not be disappointed with Get Together, though. It's quite good.
Push is irritating beyond believe. Jump is just a plain bad song. No no no no no.

It´s an illusion, I don´t care Do you believe I can make you feel better Too much confusion, come on over here can we get together? I really, I really wanna be with you come on, check it out with me I hope you, I hope you feel the same way too

the new single is a classic along the lines of Holiday. Superpop is cute, but stupid. Get together is absolutely amazing!!! Can't believe it's so unpopular on here...saw her perform it live at g-a-y and it blew me away. A classic if there ever was one. P.S. what's Superpop?

I've just heard rumours that Get Together won't have a new video. Just crappy performance footage and stuff. How boring and officially makes Confessions the album with the worst videos.

It's dreadful news but not unexpected. Fair enough she's busy with the tour but surely they could have scheduled three days to shoot a video? She must have got a dance routine and everything in place anyway for the tour so a simple dancing about in a club kind of thing would have been easy to do and better than nothing.
You could understand it it the album had flopped but it's been huge so not doing a third video is madness!
