I love Madonna.....but you have to laugh at the photo and comment - "huge flop". I laughed audibly at this

Could you imagine ... ? I don't think 'rama would care though. They'd probably be too drunk to care. 'Wot? We released a single?'.

Bananarama are okay now and were BRILLIANT in the 80's. The most accessible record is the second one (with Cruel Summer) thought the True Confessions CD is a little more like music today.
Their debut CD is lovely in a ska/Britpop/girl group kind of way - this was from a time when kids made music in their basement and became huge stars from it. I HOPE we are headed back to that kind of music making now...
I wish you were in our shoes / I wish you could be us / Washing all your laundry and riding on the bus....

The new album is great, try it! But their best "old" album is WOW! 10 tracks of perfection, perfection I tell you! Three album tracks, Bad for me, Once in a lifetime and Some Girls are as good or better than the 5 singles off it.

I love True Confessions, Wow!, Pop Life and Please Yourself - all brilliant albums.
I wish this news story was true - I'd so been hoping that the girls could make a big comeback last year. Sigh...

It sounds (feels) really odd to hear (read) someone say (write) 'Are Bananarama any good?'. I totally prefer their 'Fun Boy 3' style of music. "It ain't wot you do it's the way that you do it '. Which to me is the perfect Spice Girl song. But I digress ...

You know....if anyone here doesn't like the 'rams....then they probably shouldn't be on this messageboard.....surely everyone here has to like at least one of their songs over the years....
They have achieved a lot over the years.
I wish they would write a biography. I have a feeling it would be fabulous,....and WAY better than anything the poisonous Pete Burns can pen....
In fact when I think about it....there are numerous stars I'd like to write bio's....
Has Cyndi Lauper written one?
Has Siouxsie?
Can anyone recommend a good book on eighties music?

Can anyone recommend a good book on eighties music? Marc Almond's 'Tainted Life' is awesome and gives a really good insight into the early 80s electro music scene (it is a miracle he is not dead the amount of drugs he caned!) and Boy George's 'Take It Like A Man' is very funny and full of stories about his fellow popstars. I also love Pete Waterman's 'I Wish I Was Me', although there is a little too much emphasis on his hobby of steam trains and a little too little on dishing the dirt on his Hit Factory artists.

I want to read "Our Betty" by Liz Smith. It's a shame she never had a hit single. Is it too late?
A Bannarama DVD would be nice.

It should be still there....I can see it? There is a great new interview with Keren here.... www.windycitymediagroup.com/gay/lesbian/news/ARTICLE.php?AID=11442Somebody posted a rumour (lie) that Madonna had enlisted the Nana's as support on tour....as if! .....but hilariously it's mentioned in this american interview. ....and also mentioned is the possibilty of a DVD (packaged with a new compliation) next year to mark their anniversary! Hurrah.....but unfortunately we've been here before as there has been talk of this a while back and nothing happened.

They Holly Johnson one, Bone in my flute is great as well, great enough to not swim in lovely Creatn sea and read it like mad instead. George Michael's Bare is good but misses the Gay thing so is a bit of half the story really. I also love all the Spice books, really great especially the before/after Wannabe bits. I'd love to hear Emma's and Melanie C's side someday, too.

I wish they would write a biography. I have a feeling it would be fabulous,....and WAY better than anything the poisonous Pete Burns can pen.... That would rock! However I don't think they will as they said they wouldn't want their children to read all the trouble they got up too... I can imagine! They should go with that tacky stage musical idea and up their profile and released a bio and complete dvd. Shame they are so lazy. Siobhan Fahey's recent work...Bad Blood, Pulsatron and It's A Trip have been amazing.

What would the Bananarama musical be called? Probably 'It aint what you do' or something. Let's just hope Ben Elton isn't involved!
I would LOVE a proper double CD greatest hits with all the non hit singles on too, like 'Cheers then', the 7" of 'Hotline to heaven', 'Do not disturb', 'More than physical' (7" mix), 'Mr Sleaze', Trippin' on your love etc;

Bananarama are, and always be, class.
However, the "I don't like dated pop" comment has made me feel like a dinosaur.

So the music of today is going to sound dated to you in about four years. Why not get the jump on your friends and start disliking it now?
