Robbie is fucked up. Thats the basic truth. It doesnt make him a bad or nasty person, thats just the way he is. I was dissappointed that Robbie didnt go to the meet-up. It was never going to happen though, was it? Theres to much water under the bridge. Awesome programme. I went and bought the GH and the new track is great

Jason was never the ugly one, surely? Howard Donald was, especially in the dreadlocks years. I love the shot of Jason - I think it's shown in the Never Forget video - where he's on the beach with a guitar. Only about one second long but the most stunning thing I've ever seen.

I used to fancy Howard when I was in my late teens, mainly because of the body and probably because he was considered to be the ugly one, but now I can fully appreciate the beauty that is Jason.
In fact yesterday I spent a large amount of time in my pants and baggy shirt in a tribute to his appearance in Pray.

I think Jason is better looking now! He and Howard are both reaping the benefits of the lampshade haircut. I always found it quite funny that Gary had such a big fan base when he was in the Thats. But it's also nice that they were equally loved (although the universe knows that Mark was the nicest).

I have to say though whilst Robbie might have come across badly in some parts - it does sound like the other four where absolute wankers to him the day he left/got thrown out.

I guess so - Howards dreads were never really my thiing - but the body did do him wonders! Even in my pre-pubescent state I recognised that!

We had a female teacher that looked oddly like Howard.

What a fantastic programme. I felt 15 again! Loved those Take That lads and have to admit that their videos were the closest thing I got to gay porn in those days. Does anyone remember the 'Why can't I wake up with you' video? Seem to remember that Mark Owen and Robbie looked particularly horny. Yes those teenage hormones were surging!

Is still wrong that I still fancy Jason Orange? Don't worry, I have been telling practically everyone - mostly girls - how much I still fancy him. It's been a bit much, I'll have to stop I think. Remembering his violent acne scars might speed this process along a bit.

* I thought Gary came across brilliantly - totally stable and satisfied with his life. He might not have dealt with the whole Robbie situation well but at the end of the day - he's not his dad, its not his job to have looked after him! That's what's always pissed me off too. It's really touching that Mark, and latterly the others have acknowledged that they didn't realise that he needed help, because they were too wrapped up in what was happening to them, but one of the things that was happening to them was that a member of their group was acting like a total tosser, not pulling his weight and generally being very difficult to work with. It's all very well saying that they should have considered his feelings more, but did he ever consider their feelings when he was acting up? Mark summed it up beautifully when he said that he didn't really stop to think about Rob leaving, because at the time he was too busy worrying about having to learn a rap in time for the tour. Robbie had the time to be self-indulgent and become even more bitter about not being taken seriously and how he deserved to be successful and he did them all a favour blah, blah, while the others had to worry about putting on a great show for their fans with one less member. It was good that Robbie acknowledged, finally that Gary was a good song-writer, because he is, and Take That wouldn't have got where they were without him, and Robbie wouldn't have got where he was without them. Every member of Take That played their role, and they were a great group because of all of them, but without Gary they'd be nothing. I'm sort of glad that Robbie didn't turn up, because he's have arrived last and left first, probably landing in a helicopter and making sure that whatever he said, everyone knew he was doing them a favour by appearing. My favourite quote of the evening was Gary showing us around his crib and asking if someone had moved the chairs. He loves to have everything in order.

This documentary reminded me of how dull and tedious real life can become, because it took me away to that special place - when we were 14 years old and all that mattered was who had bought "Everything Changes" first and "have you listened to Babe yet??" and "Have you seen Robbie's new hairdo" and "Did we got tickets to the Smash Hits Pollwinners Party"!!! (I couldn't agree more with all the comments on that thread!)
I was struck by how young they all used to look... and then by how Gary has always been an old man, with that Werthers' Original Northern Wit (eeeh, this is one of those sitting rooms you don't actually sit in, eh?)
If anyone can find out where to get DVD of the documentary from, my best friends and fellow Thatters who are living in New York and the Cayman Islands, would very much like to know about it!!! (Plus it makes their Xmas presents very easy)

Absolutely not - I completely fancied Jason too. Which felt so wrong after years of him being the ugly one..... this is how i felt it. though looking at the old footage i have to say he was always the best looking it was just the stupidity of youth that made me think that he was the ugly one . for that i hang my head in shame , and will express this with a big fuckoff banner declaring my love for him in may. good show pitty was all a bit ooh look how well robbies done boo hiss .

This repeated tonight on ITV 2, 9PM, if anyone is interested. It's "coming soon to DVD" though, according to the sleeve inside the shite that is the Never Forget DVD. Anyone know what THIS is?

I always thought Jason was the goodlooking, if unnoticed one. Now he looks horrendous, his skin looks stretched over his bones and he sounds camp as. Howard Donald, on the other hand, looked ... well, not my type, back then, but now...I'm much more impressed.
