Who was the girl who covered Lucie Silvas? I thought he had a decent voice, it was on par with Lucie atleast.
Sorry, i dont know anybodies names because i hardly watch TV, but the woman who sang 'I need a hero' was bloody useless! Does anyone remember when Sarah of The Aloud sang it on Popstars? Now THAT was an amazing performance!

Now THAT was an amazing performance! Sx The girl who sang Lucie is Roxanne Pallett - she's in Emmerdale. Currently she's third favourite to win. She was very nervous last night but I thought she did well - by far the best voice amongst the girls. I was disappointed with Lucy Pargeter ("Holding Out For A Hero") as she has had experience singing before with Paperdolls. To be honest the whole show was rather disappointing. Some of them were downright awful (Nick Bailey, Sammy Windward) and at best some of them would make the last 50 of Pop Idol. I think Richard Fleeshman will win, only because of the girlie vote...

Picture on the right seems a bit Freudian doesn't it? hehe. i love it. and most definitely would. though did anyone lese notice he sang the words the wrong way round yesterday? the "i cant read you, i wish i knew what's going through your mind, can't touch you, your heart's defended..." bit quite near the beginning only really noticed cos the backing singer was singing the right words and you could really hear him. Fair play to Richard though, he carried on and didn't really have a panic or stop singing.

i think he's going to be giving calvin a run for his money in the inappropriately fanciable popstar stakes...
he's really quite amazing, and boy i love him as an emo goth and I don't even like corrie.

Random...but Richard is the son of Sue Jenkins and David Fleshman. Luckily he is also legal and therefore not as inappropriate as he could've been.

What's this about Lucy bitching and moaning about being given Sound Of The Underground to sing? And then everyone dissed Girls Aloud? No wonder I don't watch this...

To give Lucy her due, Sound Of The Underground is not exactly the best song to sing - it's a fab pop song but it just doesn't work as a karaoke song.
Roxanne on the other hand was very good once again - I think Cilla has hit the nail on the head with her prediction...

She has been trained to sing though. Being in a girl band and then going solo. But she is good. I feel that it will more of a hindrance though than a positive.

I had no idea Lucy was in Paperdolls! That's quite funny. I'll have to listen to their song and see if I can spot her voice now. I don't like her very much though, especially since she was so rude about GA!

Lucy was the lead singer of Paperdolls so she shouldn't be too hard to spot!
She looks so much older now though than on the cover of the Paperdolls CD - I'm not sure if it's that blunt haircut - mind you it was 8 years ago...
You can tell some of them are taking it more seriously than others - Roxanne especially seems to be really going for it. I think Nick will be out tomorrow night, and he'll obviously save Michael. I'd think Wendy and Lee might be the bottom 2, but then I will probably be totally wrong!

Lucy really annoyed me with her comments about Sound of the Underground. OK, she doesn't like it, but she was acting as if it was beneath her and the panel were acting as if she'd found a cure for cancer the way she sang it despite hating it. She didn't do a particularly good job anyway.
Cilla Black seems to have totally lost the plot. She is hearing different voices to me. I don't mind that they aren't brilliant, because they are soap stars and not finalists on Pop Idol, so she needs to get a bit of perspective!
Richard is a sweetie and could be good. He reminds me of Sam from Pop Idol 2.

is this worth watching then? the choice of songs sound interesting! I guess it is a refreshing change from Unchained Melody and Against All Odds for X-Factor. Viewers can 'vote' which from two songs for each performer. St Bombhead should win purely because he shouldnt.

What was it that the big bad judge who isn't Simon Cowell said about 'Sound of the Underground'? "Terrible song." Direct quote. "Terrible song."
Cunt. Don't use that as an excuse for the fact that Lucy can't sing very well, fuckers. By the way, I read that one of the rules was that none of the acts were allowed to have or to have had a record deal. Is that right? If so, isn't Lucy being naughty? I have both CDs of 'I Wanna Make You Blush', it's ace.

I only watched the first one and most of them were dire. What really put me off was the obvious over-exploitation by the phone-ins. You have to phone in to choose songs for every individual contestant and then again to vote them out. Did I get that right? If so, it's so taking the piss.
Mind you I suppose nobody is forced to phone in at all. Best option in my opinion.

He reminds me of Sam from Pop Idol 2. Yes, me too! Hence me not thinking he will get very far in the real pop world, but it would be nice if he did. It's good that they've picked some unusual songs for them to sing, including plenty of modern ones which I personally prefer to hear (what's the point of singing old songs that wouldn't be a hit in the modern charts? They should be proving that they can cut it with the current pop competition), but some of the songs have been quite unsuitable for the people they've been assigned to, for example I Believe I Can Fly for Kirk/Andy. I can't imagine him singing that at all, but maybe he will prove us wrong and be good at it, as he does seem one of the better singers of the lot - it's just a shame he's such a boring performer, especially considering he's an actor. He needs to "connect" with the audience. Jessica

Kirk/Andy was on Radio 1 saying that they all had to choose about 12 songs that they wanted to perform so I don't know why Lucy was having a moan.

What's up with Lucy's face? She suddenly looks really old! Surely having a baby hasn't done that to her? Do I smell bad botox?

has anyone seen the ITV2 show after the main one? Duncan is AWFUL. Jayne's not doing much better, though at least Duncan's stopped reading his cue cards word for word instead of looking at the camera. (though it was so-awkward-it-makes-good-watching on the first day. novelty's wearing off now.)

It's dire. It's all so dire I want to cry. The ITV begging bowl is rattled under our noses every five minutes, the only contestant I've heard of is Michael Greco (neatly pinpointing the last time I bothered to watch any soaps) and the way Cilla Black makes unsubtle allusions to wanting to shag all the male singers is just plain embarassing. I only watched the first one, so there's a faint possibility it might have improved since then, but I somehow doubt it.
