I'm with everyone on the love for Lauren. She's totally indie and probably detests Rachel Stevens and her music but she was so enthusiastic about it and it didn't seem false at all. Lauren's terrific. Remember when she presented Planet Pop on Sunday mornings on Channel 4 aeons ago? I didn't understand her then but now I'm in awe!
As for Myleene, she's a bit cringeworthy and terribly false but she's somehow managed to turn that into a certain charm and despite my inner protesting, she's completely won me over. I love her and her patronising excitedness.
Jonny's alright.

who's lauren? the blonde host from cd:uk?
how come cd:uk is always changing their hosts? cd:uk is never a consistent show.
lauren doesn't like rachel's music? where did you hear that? i want evidence before things like this are said.

They wanted to see if Dave Berry would work as a replacement for Cat Deeley - he didn't. Then they tried Holly Willoughby and a few others, they didn't seem right, and they've decided to go with the three they now have permenantly. Which will probably be reduced as time goes by.

I never liked Lauren before but I do quite now... Johnny HAS to go though. They should have kept Dave. Myleene isn't bad. The new feel of the show isn't that awful. It was in desperate need of a re-vamp, it had got stale a long time ago.
Apparantely Jayne Middlemiss is going to be taking Lauren's place on Orange Playlist btw

I'm with everyone on the love for Lauren. She's totally indie and probably detests Rachel Stevens and her music I wouldn't be quite so sure. Kenickie always tended towards the poppier side of indie and never took themselves too seriously. Who knows, her enthusiasm might even be genuine. To be honest, none of the three presenters seem entirely comfortable in their roles, and there's little natural chemistry between them. Of course, they need time to settle in, so we'll see. The look of absolute disgust on Mutya's face when Lauren imitated the Sugababes' dancing was priceless. And please, much as I love the new album, no more Mariah 'performances'. A pink neon MIMI backdrop isn't enough to compensate for shuffling awkwardly round the stage miming very badly indeed. For the biggest selling female artist of all time to phone in such a lifeless display is simply inexcusable.

I imagine there's a legion of teenage girls throughout Britain that have already fallen in love with him. Please give us teenage girls some credit!

Lisa Scott-Lee just said that if she doesn't go Top 10 then she'll be on the phone to the others members of Steps to discuss a reunion!
They've just started a poll asking viewers if they think Lisa should quit the music business, I'm not sure she's going to like the results...

Did LSL really just say that if the single doesn't go top 10 she'll ring her bandmates and re-form Steps? She didn't seem to be joking...

She is sooo deluded isn't she? Even if she scrapes the top 10 the single isn't going to make any money is it? She'll never sell albums. Why can't someone explain that to her? If Rachel Stevens is struggling why can't she understand she'll never make it

I don't think she realised that was 57% to QUIT, because she cheered..

I don't get why they don't make more of a fuss about the MiTracks chart, it's given even less time than the old chart which meant something at least. Nate James at no.10 when he can't even make the top 250 sales chart, what's that all about?

MiTracks is useless, I don't like the fact the hosts have so much influence over it either; they get to choose what will and will not be included.
If you don't agree with them you have to type in the artist and title of the person you want included, and let's face it - how many people are going to be bothered to do that.

The full LSL section of the show was like a car crash. That woman needs serious help. If it doesn't go top 10, I suspect she'll have a nervous breakdown given that her husband's been caught knobbing round as well.
And even if it does go top 10, it'll be the last time she manages it. She can't keep launching every single with an MTV series.

I dont see any point in the Mi chart. It has no real relevance at all. There doesnt seem to be much chemistry between the hosts either. The show looks like it is dying on its feet.

There's something refreshingly honest about Lisa's show and the way she conducted herself on CD: UK. She doesn't attempt to hide her desperation - she must see the sand of celebrity pouring through her fingers and it makes me want to watch what happens next.

I fear that Lisa will end up doing the Kerry Katona route, with regular OK! spreads on her marriage/break up/make up/boyfriends etc etc etc

She seemed so delusional and desperate about it. I can picture her ending up like some lost wailing banshee, roaming the hills around Capel Curig (the closest to Rhyl I've been), berating everybody she bumps into for not helping maintain her stardom. This time when I buy her single it will feel more than ever like giving a few coins to a beggar. Too bad.

Losing Cat Deeley sent CD:UK up shit creek.
Most the guest presnters were awful, espeically Candice from Corrie and Anthony from Big Brother. David Berry was useless.
I don't know why Holly Willoughby wasn't given the job, she was great. Of the new crop, Lauren is excellent- I love all her comments. She actually displays a personality unlike most presenters. Myleene is annoying, and that Pitts bloke doesn't know what he's doing. I agree, they should ditch those two and let Lauren be the sole host. Or maybe they're trying to make it so bad they can have no viewers and 'have' to axe it like the BBC have clearly being doing with TOTP.

Since the bulk of this thread was posted, the team of Johny, Lauren and Myleene have been credited with saving CD:UK, with ITV giving it another series. TOTP Reloaded, meanwhile, is moving to BBC2 next month for a three month trial, and might be stuck there permanently, apparently due to too many things interrupting kids' TV on Saturday mornings such as breaking news, deaths and football.

As much as I like them individually- this just isn't working for me. It's just akward and jittery. The three of them interviewing James Blunt and then turning round to have their own conversation was actually painful to watch. I found a tape of CD:UK with Cat the other day and it made me rather sad- she was so natural and effortless with it. They've done a bit of an X-factor with it- turning it into lots of stuff about the presenters when it should go from pop news to performances. As sad as I was to hear about Myleene being attacked, did it really fit in a saturday morning pop show, in the middle of the music news to turn around and say "So Myleene how are you since you were happy slapped?". Just please let Lauren do it alone.
