And as for the Kaballah thing - she's used the image of the cross so heavily throughtout her career, that all of a sudden converting to a hardline jewish religion seems bizarre. To me it does anyway. But you see, Storm, it's a declaration of independence. She'd like to express her extreme point of view - she's not and Christian and she's not a Jew. She's just living out the American dream - and this is best symbolised through the use of small bits of red wool attached to one's wrist.

Well not really. The image of the cross was generally used to symbolise the religion Madonna was brought up in as opposed to her actual religion. A big part of her image was the conflict with her Roman Catholic upbringing so to eventually convert to another that belief isn't all that surprising. When it comes to the belief in question, I know next to nothing about Kabballah so I'm in no position to comment but if it works for her.... As for American Life I personally think it's her most complete album to date.

As for American Life I personally think it's her most complete album to date. Ditto. As for trading off her past glories, you know what if 21 years into her career she's decided to do that fair play, after all what has Michael Jackson done for years? And if she was trading off her former glories, she wouldn't have released American Life or put songs from it in RIT.
