I fucking hate the bitch.
She knows precisely nowt about pop and looks a state.
She seems to be lauded as some kind of style icon in every ruddy women's mag I buy. Note to editors: orange fake tan, lipgloss and throwing on any old clothes the ITV stylist chucks at you does not a fashion statement make.
Stop contaminating my pop telly and my media of choice big nose!

She talks funny - like her tongue's too big for her mouth. She looks like she's about to lick her own nose any minute.
I went to the Brits after show party and saw Justin Timberlake refuse to even acknowledge her presence when she went up to him to say hello - in front of every showbiz hack in Britain. At the time I felt a bit sorry for her, but looking back it's quite funny! (And shows what a nob end Timebrlake is too!)

I used to really like her, but she's gone all credible on us. She's let us down. Her other main failing is that she's not working with Ant and Dec any more. Poor thing.
I'd heard about the Brits story, but I thought it might be something the 3AM Girls made up because it happened to them and they wanted to diffuse the gossip. The Brits story makes Justin look like a arse. She presented the show, she should be entitled to go and say hi to any of the celeb liggers. If he or anyone one else with a big entourage wants privacy they should have a private party. If it has happened to the 3AM Girls it would have been funny.

"But what do you think of The Darkness taking over the world?"
Is she a cunting Fem-Bot with only a limited vocabulary? I used to *heart* her when she was on MTV with her lesbotic buddy Edith. Where did it all go wrong?

I used to like her and have met her once. If you think she looks thin on screen, you should see her in real life man, she is emaciated. She must have an eating disorder in which case I feel sorry for her but she really shouldn't be being used as a role model. The pressure to be thin is bad enough. However, she generally talks bollocks and is so up The Darkness's arse/s only her feet show.

I like her because she's the only famous person ever to come from my school. In Year 10 my Hamlet text was the same one she had all those years before and had all her notes in. They were shit.

it drives me insane that the woman thinks cd:uk is the most controversial thing on tv..silly bitchy arguments lead to them not actually talking about the songs they're meant to be reviewing, instead getting into deeper, more important issues like 'are westlife boring'? for fucks sake. cut to next weeks show and she thinks we've been talking about it all week. and where the fuck are her eyebrows...she looks a disgrace.

Okay is it just me or is she always a *little* overdressed for Saturday morning TV? She can't stay on topic, and whenever it's anyone remotely related to a reality TV act we get the same old debate about reality tv bands. If it's S Club 8 it's "are they too young?". It's just like "HELLO! REVIEW THE BLOODY SONGS!". She will go on stage at the end of a performance and arse kiss a band who, the week before, she's been saying aren't as worthy as other bands because they're from a reality tv show (aka Girls Aloud).

Don't any of you consider the fact that script writers might be telling her what to say? Blame them for the unoriginality.
Ant and Dec used to be sniffy about pop music too - didn't anyone watch that time they despaired at the viewers after Dj Otzi got to number one.
I think that Cat's music tastes (if they are genuine, that is) are only being sniffed at as she's a girl who happens to like "real" music, and no-one ever takes girls' muisc tastes seriously.
And Popjustice readers, who seem to be against male elitism in pop music criticim are just reinforcing old male chauvinistic attitudes. Shame on you.
Bridgey xxx I should be in a riot Grrl band

This argument may have been slightly more relevant when Ant and Dec were presenting but it's so over now. Cat is just embracing laddish tastes in order to appear cool in my opinion, which for a would-be emancipated woman is just terribly terribly sad.

Ant and Dec were obviously fans of Blur and Oasis, but they were never sniffy about pop music that I noticed. I would argue that Cat's tastes are more pop than Ant and Dec's ever were, but unlike Ant and Dec, Cat comes across as worrying what we think about her tastes, while Ant and Dec never bothered about credibility.
I don't remember them taking the mick out of DJ Otji, but most pop fans were aghast by that too and when Ant and Dec take the mick they manage to do it without making anyone feel bad. That's one of the things that makes them so wonderful.
It's not Cat's fault she's not as wonderful as Ant and Dec, but she'd do better if she stopped worrying about her credibility.

The problem with Cat's tastes is that she seems to be jumping on the bandwagon as it rolls into the distance - instead of raving about some new act who're just about to break, she raves about some new act who've already been raved about for the previous 3 months everywhere else. I know it's a commercial show, but then when she starts moaning about Pop Idol when she's just as much a victim of hype as them it just gets a bit tiring...

She doesn't have to be cutting edge with her loves, just consistent. When Ant and Dec selected Blur and Oasis as their favourite CD:UK performances their band-wagons had been and gone, but it didn't matter because it's what they actually liked.

And aren't we forgetting that Ant and Dec had to be a bit more relaxed on the pop front given that they had both made their (long-term) on the back of their very own dodgy pop career?
As far as I'm concerned, Cat's doing little more than following the pop zeitgeist. The Darkness may be the apex of shitness but they're popular (at the moment). Presenters who openly mock the material they present are a rare breed (see Simon Amstell), and Cat Deeley is not one of those presenters.

Please, please, please don't turn this into a 'The Darkness/White Stripes/insert 'credible' band of your choice aren't REAL MUSIC!!!' argument because you sound just as wanky as indie fucks who say Steps didn't make real music.
Anyway. Cat Deeley. She is quite annoying. I agree with Bridgey, though, that if she were male there wouldn't be such a fuss about her not having orgasms over Scooch or something.
But why is she just 'embracing laddish tastes to appear cool'? Can't you accept that maybe, just maybe, she actually likes that kind of music? I listen to a lot of rock and metal music - am I just trying to be cool? Because you know, being female, I can't actually like that kind of music, can I?
Hey, here's an idea: the next Slipknot CD should have a Yorkie bar-style slogan with 'It's NOT for girls!' or 'WARNING: Does not feature 'fit lads' or ballads about missing you!!' on it, to prevent silly ladies like myself mistaking it for something I might like.
That said, Cat does have an air of 'thou art pop, therefore thou art shite' about her. But that's her problem. I agree that she does leap on bandwagons but that doesn't mean she doesn't actually like that kind of music.

I agree Milk Monitor and your last paragraph sums it up.
I don't believe there's intrinsically male/femaie music, so maybe I didn't express myself well and didn't pick up on the ironic tone of Bridgetta's post, sorry about that.
The thing with Cat's tastes is they always coincide with what happens to be considered cool and therefore the suspicion arises that it's not really the music she likes at all. Pop music has been seen as uncool recently so that's what she is incessantly deriding. She only has one angle and that's tedious.
