Did you eat the cigarette? Why would she want to do that? I remember them making Gemma do that on Byker Grove. I think it was her nan.

I dont like Busted either, only reason I like McFly better is cos their lead singer has an really good voice (not the ugly blonde kid who's a twat!). But in general they are both shite!

Did you have to go to the garage? I was so incensed I decided to go to T in the Park and chain-smoke for 2 days and singalong to the BEP's Where Is the Love in a Busted stylee to launch the Let Busted Smoke campaign. Next week, cigars at a Crowded House gig *wheeze*

I like the fact Simon Cowell turned them down because they had no drummer and he said no band will make it without a drummer
Oh Mr Cowell how wrong were you. I bet he cried into his millions on that one thinking a man can never have enough millions

well, say what you like about Busted, they seem to mostly play the music themselves, and mostly write their own songs AFAIK, that makes them a whole lot more talented than many bands who've suceeded in pop.

After their first album I quite liked Busted, then I heard their second and wish I hadn't. But what really annoys me about them is that in virtually every one of their performances that I've seen they've done that wanking jump, which has become like their trademark. A good kneecapping would soon put paid to this addiction, we'll see how well they jump without any knees. Fuckers!
And to compound my misery, enter Mc-cocking-fly, bunch of degenerate muppets. They serve no purpose to the world, so I propose to dig a great big massive ditch, chuck the vile rug-rats in it, collect every single and album they have ever sold and pour it over their stinky, munchkin heads, thereby crushing them under their own shit!!!.
That would not only be poetic irony, but popjustice.

I personally couldn't give a flying rat's ass who writes songs, I can't stand them cos they take themselves far far far too seriously. I mean, come on Charlie, if it's "insulting and degreading" to be called a boy band, then why appear in EVERY issue of Smash Hits and TOTP magazines in the poster sections? Sometimes even topless? The fact that they go out of their way to say how they write their songs, always sing live and play their own instruments proves just how seriously they take themselves! They think they are the most important band since The Beatles for crying out loud! The sooner America rejects them and then they go back to their rich parents the better!! PS: How can we tell 100% that they do write their own songs? I know if someone told me to write songs for them but on the album sleeve they would get the credit for it I wouldn't want to rock the boat, as long as I got the money in the end! Come to think of it, I'll retract that. With the moronic lyrics that they sing, it could only possibly be Charlie Simpleton writing them!!

They think they are the most important band since The Beatles for crying out loud! They're always having to say it because they need to defend themselves, because people are ALWAYS slating them and saying they don't play their instuments and write their own stuff. They wouldn't keep saying it for no reason. But they're not just going to sit back and let people think that they pretend to play their instruments, and have others write their songs. They want people to know what they've achieved. And how do you know they think they're better than the Beatles, have you spoken to them, did they tell you this? NO?! Well thats because they don't. Thats just ridiculous. The sooner America rejects them and then they go back to their rich parents the better!! But if America liked them, they'd be over there a lot of the time, I thought you'd be glad about that. And what do you mean rich parents?! So you know their parents now?

I'd advise you to actually read what I said. I said: "They think are the most important band since The Beatles". I DID NOT say they thought they were better! And how many poor kids do you know that went to a public school??

I'd love to know where these sometime topless posters of Charlie are because as far as I know, he has never done them. It's probably also worth pointing out that if a magazine decides to use a publicity shot of them as a poster, its not really something they have in their control. They are interviewed for those magazines as they know they have a young fan base and when it comes to promotion, its good to target those mags to sell more records. In regard to your public school comment- Charlie was the only one who went to public school.

Matt was at Sylvia Young which isn't cheap, although he may have got in at an audition. So they all went to privately funded schools.

Whether or not they went to public school has little to no effect on what they are doing now. What difference does it make, honestly?

Stage school isn't public school though. So what? You still have to pay (unless you're lucky enough to get a scholarship via auditions), and even if that is beside the point, Charlie is not the only member who went to public school. End of.

Matt did have a scholarship. His family are certainly no where near rich, although i do believe James', and definitely Charlie's are well off.

Yet again, I have to say what does it matter? Why attack them for their backgrounds? Popstars who come from hardship and struggle all the way to their incredible success are applauded, whilst people still bitch about Charlie going to public school, and basically having an easy ride which thus negates what he has acheived. I went to public school, anyone have a problem with that?

Matt did have a scholarship. His family are certainly no where near rich, although i do believe James', and definitely Charlie's are well off. There definitely seems to be a class argument creeping in here and I'm not surprised because there seems to be a bucket load of rich, upper class folk having success in the music business at the moment. It must be a lot easier to get there when you have music lessons, access to instruments, stage school and mummy and daddy on board giving their little darlings every encouragement, not to mention no pressure to earn a living. The Press is class ridden too(the tabloids most of all) and show a certain deference that they don't to others. There's Dido, Katie Melua, Busted, Jamie Callum, Will Young ... just to name a few obvious ones. There must be others in this category. I'm not saying that they aren't talented, just making an observation.

No I see what you mean, but these people [and we can get into media intrusion blah blah blah] are essentially putting their music out there to be judged and not their backgrounds. So everyone is entitled to say i heart busted, or i'd like to see them burn in hell because thats what they're to expect. It is so irrelevant whether or not Daddy bought their first guitar to cheer them up at boarding school...

I do agree that coming from a rich(er) family may have helped them a bit, but at the end of day Will Young and Busted are talented and wouldn't have got anywhere without talent no matter how much money they had. From what I know about how Busted came about they had just as much financial help as any other band (i.e. not a great deal). Sure they had the family fortunes to fall back on, but they still had to make it on their own. As for Will, he won Pop Idol, a competition entered by people from every class and social group (as long as they were aged 16-24) and his background gave him no advantage over any of the other contestants, his upper-class-ness may have swung voters to like him but that's not exactly his fault.

And in many respects it could have worked against him - if his character was in any way disliked it would have been put down to upper class snobbery.
