*starts crying in teenybopper way*
Noooooooooooo Duncan isn't an idiot! You can stick Keedie in here because she's an opera singer and ruins the entire song, but not Dunky!!!
*crosses arms and sulks like a Blue troll*
The song is beautiful. It's not really supposed to be for the pop charts - it's for a West End production, which is a bit different. And yes, I have heard it. I know a few days ago I said I hadn't heard it, but I have it now and it's gorgeous. Duncan is amazing on it! Keedie is ok, but she overpowers him, when it's supposed to be his song.
But I guess my opinion doesn't matter in this case because I'm a Blue fan.
*resumes sulking*

Reasons for the clowns and idiots placement of Duncan:
Vocal is Auto-tuned to the hilt.
Awful acting (NB:sickly awe and wonder expression)
As you said, for the West End, so I'll go buy a ticket if I want to listen thanks very much, but don't subject me to it on my music channel!!

It's not really supposed to be for the pop charts - it's for a West End production, which is a bit different. It shouldn't have been released then, should it? Seriously, Duncan's face gives me the heebiejeebies. In that video he has so much make up on he's a pair of suspenders short of being Frank N Furter.

Loved it the first time I saw the video. Dead lush and corny as hell. Told my friend Stewart about it. Described it as "Awesome, it's like bad Andrew Lloyd Webber it's so good."
He then informed my uncultured self that it WAS Andrew Lloyd Webber!!!! Oops.
The worst case of self parody since Westlife did "Mandy".
Duncan has got smashing boots on.

No1 on The Box requests...I ask you? Whooohooo! That's ace! Haha. And looking at the release schedule, there is nothing decent released on the same week, so he will hopefully do well. Nobody has given any decent reasons to put Dunk and Keedie into Clowns and Idiots yet...

Keedie is an opera singer?
If so she must be a bloody awful one because she has worse vocal technique than Ronan 'I'm getting sympathy laryngitis just listening to you' Keating. NO opera singer worth their salt strains notes like that, nor do they have what can only be described as R&B tone.
Opera singers sing unamplified for the most part. A singer who attempted to use her techniques in the concert hall / theatre would ruin their voice in minutes.
Of course, it doesn't help that the song itself is utter drivel.

Keedie. Hilarious. CDuk she wears what can only be described as a white gypsy top, white forensic investigator people trousers and hideous black welly boots and then starts doing the head bobbing, dancing thing as if the song has some sort of beat or dance-worthy quality. I was sitting watching thinking "is this girl for real?".

"Ok Duncan, to kick-start a serious career, you can sing a West End song...along with a random girl 'singer' in a white duvet cover!" I think they only included Keedie so millions of Duncan!Fangirls would slag her off...

I saw the video/heard this song for the first time yesterday, and it is complete dirge. Duncan can't sing, you can hear how his voice has been re-touched to the max, and he's still terrible. And yes, he does look like a wax model of himself. Far to much make-up, but still less than Keedie, who looks like a living, breathing Barbie-doll. An ugly one. And I cannot believe she is an opera singer. Like Mr Klee said, if she is, she's a pretty rubbush one.
[/rant]
The video is awful as well. H & Claire, anyone?

In fact everybody is saying how good they look together in the video and how we all hope the single does well for them. There is no Keedie slagging at all. So, I am afraid you are wrong.

I don't want to pick your post apart intentionally but this song is not beautiful and if anything Duncan completely ruins an otherwise awful song by Keedie. I was so shocked to see that this is even remotely popular it is single most godawful racket I have ever, ever heard. The video is beyond cringeworthy but not more so than Duncan's hair and facial expressions. He is like a puppet out of The Labrynth only with less vocal talent. ARGH. This 'thing' is so so so bad.

duncan had hair extensions! idiot. he really does look terrible, and about 35.
And the song is appalling. She's not an opera singer, doesn't she do musicals which isn't the same thing at all.

I've heard worse make number one in the charts and this song is quite Disney sounding isn't it?

I think he will feel uncomfortable performing this one live, It has a real Disney feel to it, music by numbers. I keep thinking of Beauty and the Beast or the Lion King when I hear it. How long did the Blue boys spend building up their reputations as the hard, bad boys of pop, not your average boyband. Duncan's reversed that in one foul swoop. I think he looks pretty terrible with those hair extensions. But if Blue fans buy it, it will be a number one.

What kind of name is "Keedie"? Is it her first or last name? What could it possibly be an abbreviation of? Is it an obscure reference to KD Lang?
No me likey song.

I heard it for the first time today and I think that their voices really don't complement each others. I wasn't at all keen, but i'm sure it will do well because of the Blue connection. Is it a grower though? Having heard it the once I can say i'm not keen, however if I was to hear it a few more times, would my opinon change?

Personally I have no strong opinions one way or the other on the merits of Duncan, or indeed Keedy.
Although by launching his almost-solo career with a show-tune Duncan does seem to positioning himself firmly in the Ronanesque mums-and-grans marketplace, which seems like an odd career move.
The song, however is irrideemably fuck-awful, not only does it have no interesting/pleasing/remotely original melodic ideas, it also sounds like every other Lloyd-Webber ballad fed into a computer and cut and pasted back together to form a new song.
On top of all of that it even manages to rip off the Bees Gees (Dionne Warwick recorded) song "All The Love In The World". The lyric and the melody are banal and trite beyond comprehension.
Utterly, Utterly appalling. Lloyd-Webber should be flayed.
And, naturally enough in a year that's brought us such chart-topping pre-teen gems as BabyCakes and the Cha-Cha Slide, it's almost this weeks new number 1.
Oh joy.

Actually, from the video clip I saw on the site, I rather like it (even if Duncan does need to cut his hair before I chop it off for him). Ah for the halcyon days of U Make Me Wanna. Opinion is reserved until I hear the entire thing, though.

Absolutely ghastly!
This song is the musical equivalent of paint by numbers - people should try listening to some real opera not this twaddle.

ok i think not many people like this song because its from a musical and is not every1s taste of music. I study music and this is a well written, well sung song, u may thing duncans voice is awfull but its not, its a really good effort at a very musically challenged song for a pop singer. and as for "the random opera singer" every1 is new at somepoint
