Sorry to put another Girls Aloud member in here, but I think Nicola deserves it for being ashamed of being a ginger and dying her hair brown. Her hair used to make her stand out and give her some character, but now she just looks extremely plain compared to the other girls.
Shame on her!

I'm not sure dying her hair makes her an idiot.
She's still ace though, surely?

While she undoubtably looks less lovely without the red hair, she is still lovelier than a rose garden arranged so that the flowers themselves form a picture of Miss Roberts.
I don't think she's ashamed, she's just experimenting, she'll be the flame haired maiden we know and love by Christmas time, I reckon.

Nicola is my fave, but I have to admit, the brown hair doesn´t suit her so much, makes her face look more blushy.

Nicola should just be in here for bieng the ginger one. Despite containing only 11 words, one of which is misspelt, this may well be the wrongest post to ever appear on Popjustice.

Nicola should just be in here for bieng the ginger one. No, no, no! The ginger hair made her stand out and as for the other group members, well to be honest they all look the same to me: high heels, short skirts and too much make-up.

No, no, no Nicola is the ginger one and is just wrong.
I can't wait to see Girls Aloud at the MTV hits thing tomorrow - I'll be able to watch the greatest girl group ever, and not have a cameraman make me look at Nicola!
(P.S. That's 45 words of which none are spelt incorrectly)

Her hair was the only reason she was voted into the group. Her vocals on the otherwise excellent Love Machine make me cringe

Usually I would have agreed with the people who dislike Nicola, but for some reason I have been converted, and I love her. She's not as ace as Kimberley, but she's still my second favourite member of the Aloud. Which is weird, considering I used to hate her more then Coyleston (who is now my least favourite). I am undecided whether she should be ginger or brunette...

Sorry, but having just spent a day with the girls at the MTV hits recording, the ginger one definitely is the least charismatic, worst looking and moodiest of them all.
And everyone else I spoke to during the day completely agreed.

Simon Astell said that too. But who cares? Like Geri, she's carried by four other including the delightful Cheryl who could attack you at any moment.
Brilliant!

What is the point in wasting your time with a so called Clown/Idiot like Nicola who is one fifth of the most successful girl band since the Spice Girls......especially when there's still the Cheeky Girls, Lee from Blue, Jentina, Chloe from Clea, etc. still on the loose. What has Nicola done to justify this title? Be ginger? Have slight person-less-rich-and-brilliant-than-me tendencies? Have bad teeth? Who cares! She can sing which is a lot more than many of today's current acts can say they do (Rachel Stevens are you listening?). Leave Nicola alone!

Hardly enjoying the same level of success as the Spice Girls though, are they? Well Eamon and Fiona said it on GMTV, I didnt just make that up. All of their singles have been top 3, in fact only one hasnt been top 2. Their album got to #2 and went platinum and they've sold over a million singles. They have a huge fan base and they get a lot more critical respect than the Spice Girls got. And they dont have a gimmick like dressing up like a ned/ five year old/ upmarket slapper/ downmarket ginger slapper/ mad afro person. They just make good pop music and it's doing good for them. Bear in mind that music downloads wasnt as huge when the Spices were around. Just face it mate, they're doing good.

Hahahahahaha!
Spice Girls didn't have a gimmick ("Mad afro person"?) They just had something called a personality. Most people can't even tell the different Girls Aloud members apart while even people who didn't like pop knew the Spice Girls. Spice Girls had far more critical respect. Are Girls Aloud even famous outside the UK?

The Aloud just get better and better.
Nicola is lovely, cute and nicely moody. She has an appealing "understated" presence. Geri was/is a fool with a big mouth.
I would like to see the red hair resurrected, it is a gift from the gods.

GA i like them too.... are nowhere near the sales of the spice girls over 45 million albums worldwide but they have gotten a better reaction from the music media. spice girls were only around for 3 albums & 3 succesful years 1996-1999. GA will be around for a lot longer.

Her hair was the only reason she was voted into the group. Her vocals on the otherwise excellent Love Machine make me cringe Bunkum and tummyrot. Nicola's harmonies are the best bit. How do we know Nicola is "ashamed" of her ginger hair, anyway? The only place I've read that is on Popbitch and I wouldn't believe most of the stuff I read on there even if it was accompanied by a signed affidavit. Britney dyed her hair brown recently, does that make her ashamed of being a blonde?

i loved the spice girls... but yes they did have a gimmick, their names , they way they dressed & the girl power slogan. Hmm. They didn't start the names though. TOTP magazine did (or was it Smash Hits?) and they just sort of stuck. As for the way they dressed well...kind of. The image that everyone remembers of them (Emma in a white dress and pigtails, Mel C in sports gear, Geri in the Union Jack dress, Mel B in what she wore in the 'Wannabe'/'Who Do You Think You Are' videos, Victoria in the little black dress) was just what stuck with them. Most of it was what they wore in one video; not what they wore all the time. Geri only wore the Union Jack dress once at the Brits, yet it's what people think of when they think of her. Only Mel C ever really wore the same sort of thing all the time. So even that wasn't their fault really. The 'Girl Power' slogan was definitely a gimmick (a recycled one at that) though, that can't be disputed. Anyway...GA's chart positions are nothing compared to those of the Spice Girls. If we ignore 'Forever' and focus on their heyday (Spice/Spiceworld), only 'Stop' failed to top the charts. They also sold many times more singles and albums than GA. They also managed to crack America. I know GA haven't tried yet, but even some of our biggest and arguably best exports have failed to do that (Oasis, Take That and Robbie spring to mind). Plus, anyone who honestly believes GA's fanbase is 'huge' and bigger than the Spice Girls' ever was is deluding themselves. Most people who aren't avid fans of the band can't tell them apart. Most people knew which Spice Girl was which, even if they didn't like them. GA's sales aren't anything to shout about either; only 'Sound of the Underground' managed to shift an impressive amount, and that was off the back of a TV show. I wouldn't be so sure on GA being around longer than the Spice Girls. Don't forget that the Spices are still around, albeit not together. I'll be amazed if GA manage to command headlines as individuals like the Spice Girls still can in eight years time. They can't even really do it now, what chance have they got when they're not together as a band?

They can't even really do it now, what chance have they got when they're not together as a band? I really like Girls Aloud but all of what uve said is completely true. Their brilliance is all down to the songs and the genius of Brian Higgins, as performers I've always found them hysterically wooden and completely dull as they struggle to carry off dance moves Britney would pull off in her sleep. Their singles haven't been huge selling, SOTU excluded and their album, while peaking at number 2 , dropped out of the top 20 in two weeks and was never seen there again, so I hardly think they're that big a force in the music industry to be honest. I doubt they would ever crack America because, lets be honest, the americans just wouldnt get it, they'd say the show sounded dated or some other such nonsense. Ok i dont really like the band at all much, apart from Sarah who is rather fabulous. great songs though.....

What is the point in wasting your time with a so called Clown/Idiot like Nicola who is one fifth of the most successful girl band since the Spice Girls But they're not. At all. The Sugababes and even the dreaded Atomic Kitten are still way ahead in terms of album sales. Since you also didn't specify 'UK girl band' I could also throw in the little-known Destiny's Child, who have shifted a trifling 30 million albums. GA are probably the fourth biggest girl band since the Spices' heyday. In any case, can you think of an album with four top 3 singles on it that sold fewer copies than SOTU? I'm really struggling.
