This anorexic bitch girl I don't like but I would never use an eating disorder or out dated sexism as an insult or people might think I'm a moron is going on here for saying these words on Radio 1...
Girls Aloud are crap! I'd like to just knock them all down with my finger, one by one, bang. Gone, goodbye.
The only one who'll be bang, gone, goodbye after this week is Jentina. Her single will be a mighty big flop, and Girls Aloud will be around a while longer. I'd just love it if Cheryl chimed in with something that will help flush Jentina down the pop toilet even quicker.

She should have listened to Lady Sovereign. Oh and Girls Aloud are fab!

I imagine that a large amount of my record collection wouldn't like each other. Doesn't make any difference to me. Though she probably didn't say this without some prompting. Jentina wouldn't say boo to a goose if she were representing Romania at an international goose booing competition. I imagine the conversation went something like this:
"Hello, Daily Star? This is Jentina's press officer here, any chance of featuring her in Monday's paper as she has a single out that day?"
"Well to be honest our readers don't know or care who she is and since you gave the exclusive on her snogging Matt from Busted to Sneak then there's not much to write about. Does she have any other ex-boyfriends who are famous and might have shagged her on a train or in some woods? Has her tit come out in a public place? Does she hate anyone who is currently big news?"
"Hmm . . . I'll have a story for you in just a few minutes."
It never bothers me if acts I like hate other acts I like. Amy Winehouse hates everyone I like but she's still my favourite waste of time. The Jentina single is brilliant and I fancy her very very much (though the thought of her and Keith Flint turns my stomach).

I agree with Tim, if someone I like hates someone else I like it makes no difference to me (however if someone I dislike hates someone I like then hypocritically I suppose it's a different story).
Looking forward to the inevitable Louis Walsh reaction though.

Am I the only one who thinks that Jentina has some resemblance with Victoria Aitken?
I also fear that she could have an "I'm superior to all whites because I understand black culture. (And I'm superior to all blacks because I'm white.)" attitude.
I like her latest single a lot, but I would still be shocked to find as weak material as that on any GA or Sugababes album. So I do think it was reckless of her to bring up the comparison.

I quite like her attitude... although it's easy to be cynical about her being 'real' and all that, it's cool to see someone unashamedly proud of being romany and coming from a caravan. As far as I know that's never happened in pop before. Most would try to keep it quiet.

Can someone tell me who the Jetina is?
Is she that new rap / RnB sensation who at the start of the year was hyped up no end, and promptly her single flopped?
And now she's taking to gain some credibility by taking a pop at a group who were formed on a TV reality show?
Unfortunately she doesn't realise a) For the people who she's aiming this won't get any credibility going for an easy target (I remember years ago someone on the cover of Kerrang with the caption 'all boy bands must die' and just laughing) and b) anyone with any knowledge of pop music knows that GA are great.
I can't wait to see Cheryl smack her one.

If you don't know who she is then why don't you Google search? And what she does or doesn't think about Girls Aloud, or anything else for that matter, doesn't change the fact that French Kisses is a great single. Popstars don't have to get on, they don't have to be right, they don't even have to be alive. Pop should always be an explosion of conflict and risk and right and wrong. It should be made by skinny gypsies AND ginger Nicolas and Amy Wineboxes and gay American Elton John fans. And none of them have to like each other for it all to be great. I'm really confused at the negative reaction she's getting. I wonder if she emits some kind of peculair scent that enrages people indescriminately?

Further to Tim's point, why is everyone suggesting that Cheryl should give her a good smacking?
You were the ones that complained about Cheryl getting a negative image after the Sophie Amsiohfidbfkjbfeuf incident and now you're acting like she's some violent nutcase who should be revered because she may or may not have the tendancy to hit people once in a while.
I don't know Cheryl, but I'm sure she'd hate to be portrayed as a slap-happy thug who would twat anyone who said a bad word about her or her band.

She is, however, entitled to her opinion. Who cares if shes doesn't like GA? I don't think she's right, and it's not like anybody cares about that.

Sorry to keep dragging through this (especially as you say you don't really care either way) but I'm really puzzled as to where so many of you have got this idea that "she clearly thinks she's fantastic" (not that that would be a bad quality for a budding popstar - or fox*). I've seen her be defensive - but surely that's a characteristic of insecurity not arrogance. And I've seen her struck dumb with fear only managing to say how much she loves Britney Spears (which i thought was adorable) but I've never seen or heard her give off this persona that seems to rile you all so much.
*Roald Dahl joke there, marvelous.

Personally I love Jentina and Girls Aloud. I would prefer it if they were best friends (as I'm like that) but they aren't, so oh well. I think the person who should be in the clowns and idiots board is you Steveweiser. I love ga as much as the next person but you have reduced yourself to the level of an obsessive with no regard for actual logic. So she doesn't like them- that makes her a bitch? If we were all bitches or the male counterparts for not liking a pop band that someone else does- that would add up to a lot of bitches and bastards would it not? Your ignorance is astounding. To deem someone anorexic for appearing thin, and to use it a an insult is simply vile. I know this is a board for ranting about popstars you don't like, but your reasoning and motive are transparent. Not everyone who dislikes your precious girls is worthy of the verbal assault you've given Jentina, Steveweiser.

As far as I know that's never happened in pop before. Most would try to keep it quiet. My basis for saying that is only a fuzzy gut feeling. It's no big deal. If I'm wrong I'm wrong, if I'm right then tough luck. Her being Romany wouldn't change what I meant. I'm sure they can see themselves as white, like I know Jews can do. To me the terms black/white are phoney when it comes to race, but more technical terms like Negro and Caucasian wouldn't have helped here. This thing you say about no Gypsy pop is interesting. Somebody like Django Reinhardt hardly hid his Romany background, and played popular music. But that was half a century ago by now, and has there been anything since then, besides the Gypsy Kings? How were things before anyway? I thought Gypsy music and parties were seen as something fun but dangerous by the Europeans. Maybe something similar to the Notting Hill Carnival today. So could African culture have taken over such a role from Gypsy culture? I still find it hard to shake my picture of Jentina as a thoroughly normal English girl, by the way. Not much of an indication, I know, but in this interview she mentions three things she has in common with me. www.the-raft.com/feature149She moved to Peckham of her own accord at an early age, like me. She got words of encouragment from Nenah Cherry; while a lowly member of my cousins' band produced Cherry's half-sister, Tityo's records. (OK, he maybe wasn't as insignificant as I thought.) And she likes Santa Monica, where one of my best friends has moved. (He's directed videos by the likes of Basement Jaxx and Madonna as part of a collective - Traktor.) And generally what she says there feels too familiar. I kind of hope most Gypsies have retained more of their "exotism". Not even her names - Jenny + Tina (=Jentina) and Chapman - are unusual.

I honestly think that she's getting such a negative reaction because she's a gypsy, and has this 'pikey' tag. I can't see any other reason why people would dislike her so much - I'm a fan, and I've hardly seen her being interviewed, so would have nothing to base any hatred on.

All these Jentina topics must have brought back painful memories.... Calling someone a clown/idiot for the cardinal sin of slating your favourite band is the kind of lunacy one might expect from the 'delightful' Blue trolls who occasionally pay us a visit. Not from a grown man who is supposed to know better. Is it just me, or did the hatred for Bad Ass Strippa come mainly from those who took it far too seriously?

Patrick Wolf and other original singers have to watch their albums sell very little while false brats that can't even rhyme properly are given so much attention by the record companies with their cod American lingo and their mediocre talents. Well good news, if Jentina doesn't get a massive hit this weekend (which she will, unfortunately) she's getting dropped. All th communities are talking about it and I wouldn't be surprised if 'I Hate Jentina' Online doesn't come about soon. I'm sorry but I hate her. And it's nothing to do with her being a bloody gypsy. What's so hypocritical about this post, is that I could quite you a number of times falling over yourself about how good Jentina is. And quite bizarrely, you say you don't like her rap style, but were one of her biggest supporters until she did a vocal track. I think if anything is lazy it's the 'she's anorexic therefore she's crap', or 'she's not real, or credible, therefore is crap' comments that you frequently come out with. Who gives a fuck?? I like both of her tracks - I don't give a fuck where that magic comes from either, and I don't care if it's cool or not. I'm a little old to be pandering to things like that.

People hate her because they hate her. The same way they hate lots of other popstars I love and I can't understand why. Jentina is nothing unusual, she's certainly not the first and won't be the last. It happens with every single celebrity going. This board epitomises this, the dislike of people we know next to nothing about.
Personally I think she's great but to throw my rattle out of my pram and imply that people are bigots just because they don't like someone I do is despicable.
Maybe that might be the reason for some and yes that is ignorent but to tar everyone with the same brush is equally as ignorent.
And I don't believe it anyway as evidenced on this board, everyone has their own reasons. For example half of the people here went off her because (rightly or wrongly) they thought she moved away from the original tough gypsy girl image of BAS into more Kylie clone territory.
And to be honest I don't find it hard to understand why some really took against her even before that when she first appeared on the scene with BAS. Like it has already been mentioned we know next to nothing about the personality of the girl herself and so all people have is the image presented and a young, fairly pretty, white English girl who's influenced by US hip-hop and going on about being a Bad Ass Strippa is an image that was asking to be despised even without the gypsy angle (infact if she was middle class I'm sure people would hate her more). I mean it's bad enough for young, pretty English popbabes to be liked when they're doing music young pretty English popbabes should be doing let alone trying to have the audacity to claim they're hip-hop!!! This isn't my opinion by the way but it was obvious this was gonna be the view of many. And it wasn't helped by the fact the whole intended tongue in cheek-ness of Jentina was poorly done and fell slightly flat and therefore passed people by.
And if you're proclaiming that judging all gypsies to be criminals or bad people is wrong (which it is) then the 'Daily Mail readers' comment has no place. Isn't it just as wrong to assume that because you might have a certain political standpoint and read a certain paper you are therefore racist? I think it is.

Calling someone a clown/idiot for the cardinal sin of slating your favourite band is the kind of lunacy one might expect from the 'delightful' Blue trolls who occasionally pay us a visit. Not from a grown man who is supposed to know better. Because of course not being able to sing and/or not having good songs or stage prescence or even being a bit up your own arse (which seems to be the reason many are here despite the fact they might otherwise be thoroughly decent people) is so much more worthy of that title than an individual who make nasty comments about others. Of course that's what we oh so mature people think. Like I said I agree with Tim it doesn't really bother me who hates who in the popworld and it might make things more interesting and like others have said it's something we all do here. But I don't pretend that slagging someone off like that isn't anything but extremely negative behaviour. I can only speak for myself but when I do it (and we all do) it's for selfish reasons be it out of anger, spite, to make myself look better or just because I wanna. There's nothing good about it and it's extremely twatty, I know that but I still do it. And though I find Steveweisers anorexic comments offensive (though no more than Dr Bastards constant Geri/anorexia comments which seem to have gone by largely uncommented on by most) I can't see why he's getting so much stick for the reason he's put her here, whether her saying it bothers me or not and however daft a reason it is, in the context of this board it's still far more worthy a reason than the majority here. And I'm sure he wouldn't be getting so much stick if it had been 3 Of A Kind here for saying it. And before anyone says 'Yeah but 3 Of A Kind are crap!.'. Irrelevent.
