It's been an act from the very beginning all this "Ginger hair - feel sorry for me" routine. And she's got you all involved. She's secretly trying to kill the fabulous Nadine off. I imagine she loved it when she waltzed into the studio's telling the rest of girls that she will be singing "I Say A Prayer For You" by herself. Probably saying it with a strong glare in Nadine's direction. She knows that the underdog vote works for her. And that's what she's always been after. When Nicola and Nadine release a solo single we'll all buy Nicola's because we feel sorry for her. But I won't! I'll be buying Nadine's - The true star of the world.
She'll kill Nadine off in a "Charlie from Corrie" way. Meddling with her mind. Then she'll go to work on the other girls. One by one picking them off. Destroying their minds. Then Girls Aloud will just be Nicola. The girls will be there. But they won't be singing. Oh no. Nicola will have twisted everyone into just using her vocals.
She's coming up from behind. And no one can see it. Look at the use of skirts. Showing of her legs. This must be on purpose. Secretly destroying Nadine's confidence. Nadine must be thinking, "Why is she wearing skirts? Am I not good enough? Should I be wearing skirts at all? Maybe only Nicola should wear a skirt. She does have great legs after all."
Is "100 Different Ways" really about Nadine apologising to Nicola after an argument they had. And she's saying, "Look, you wear the skirts".
So for those who support Roberts? Don't. She's the MO of Girls Aloud, the CEO, the brains, the worker and she is Girls Aloud. You just can't see it yet. But you will when you find those reedy vocals on every song.
Don't ignore Nicola. Just don't treat her special. DESTORY HER SELF-ESTEEM!

One of my friends went to college with her in Merseyside and claims that Nicola bullied her sister the whole way through. I think Nicola's cool but my friend isn't a liar. I'll put it down to being a teenager (most teenagers are prats before they reach the age of 17) but, you know, after hearing what she apparently put my friend's sister through I won't pretend to think that Nicola's the acest person ever to have lived.
And stop dying your hair brown, Nic! You're letting the side down!

if shes going to dye her hair then she really needs to tint her eyebrows too...
anyway, i never liked her she never looks very friendly or approachable. some might say its because shes shy, but judging how the rest of GA say shes the "loudest"(?!), "craziest" and "funniest" i would say she is definately not shy.
why do GA say all that about her anyway, when in every interview they have to finish her sentences for her.

When me and some of my friends drunkenly accosted her last year she was very pleasant. Even when asked about whether her and Cheryl preferred Pot Noodles or Super Noodles, she was never less than polite. She was wearing a slightly rubbish hat though.

hmm no self-respecting ginger would dye their hair brown... for that alone she ought to be disowned. I suppose she can't help having one of those faces that any right-minded person simply feels the need to slap... and certainly she doesn't convey a very amiable attitude (and of course back in 2003 she was reputedly most discourteous to the bedrock of my sexual fantasies, Saint Matthew of Busted).
In her defence (well sort of) I did think that on Pop Stars: The Rivals, Nicola was one of the more talented girls - she carried off 'big' songs like River Deep, Mountain High, which the likes of Cheryl and certainly hapless Kimberley (poor girl) could never manage...

I have decided that she is in fact the worst Aloud. Sarah would be the worst, but she makes much more of an impression on What Will The Neighbours Say. And is way prettier.
HOWEVER, Nicola is nowhere near the 'ginger minger' the press make her out to be- she actually looks totally stunning and the best on the album artwork. She looked much better with the ultra-orange hair and porcelain skin, though. Fake tan is a fatal mistake for gingers, it just looks like their hair is leaking into their skin ala Lohan. They are always much prettier pale.

I absolutely LOVE Nicola Roberts...
I don't know what it is about her that makes me like her so much. Okay, so she doesn't sing as much on all their songs... But the bits she does sing are so ace! (Especially the last verse on 'Graffiti My Soul' :-D)
And I don't even care she died her hair... She's still the same...

And the prim look on her face is class too, i hadn't seen such a great pop act in the uk for long

Of course she is, and she's got every right to be. She's the Nicola Roberts. If I was her I'd be smug too.

I always feel that Nicola looks very uncomfortable in any social situation. In the video, her doing the sexy dance routine during the bridge of Love Machine is quite laughable and couldnt be any more unsexy if she tried.
Unlike the Tweedster, who pulls it off effortlessly.
Also, one thing i forgot to mention, on the Popstars - The Rivals video which documents their rise to fame, Davina asks Nicola a question and Nicola gives her a total 'wtf!' look. There is never an excuse for rudeness, especially when Davina is involved.

Yes, Nicola is not over-blessed with flirtatious, kittenish sexual allure, is she? Then again I often find that Kimberley looks quite awkward too. Maybe it's not helped by comparision to Sarah and Cheryl, who do seem rather more comfortable with the notion of sex appeal.

After all, she's now the one who's having articles written about her abs.

There is never an excuse for rudeness, especially when Davina is involved. And if you haven't got that video, Talent in a Previous Life is currently running a competition to win a copy, giving you the opportunity to watch Nicola treat Davina with the contempt she deserves over and over again. Plug aside, the reason Nic sometimes looks uncomfortable with the sexy dance routines is simply because she's not used to actually trying to be sexy. As she naturally oozes allure and gorgeousness from every pore, she finds herself being sexy, entirely unconsciously, just by sitting down in a paint stained pair of jeans and an old t-shirt. This whole concept of needing to turn it on and do certain moves to provide sex-appeal, rather than it just happening, is totally alien to her, hence her slight grumpiness with the idea.

Nicola always looks like she HATES the music she makes. Aren't all of them rather ambivalent towards their own records though? I'm sure I read a quote where one of them (possibly Cheryl) said that, if they weren't in the band, they wouldn't neccessarily listen to a Girls Aloud record or go to clubs which would play them. I was going to make a point about this in the thread about Charlie leaving Busted, but couldn't find any evidence for it anywhere. Am I making it up? Anyone? Anyway, given that boredom and apathy are two key themes within a lot of Girls Aloud songs, isn't it rather appropriate that Nicola looks a bit disinterested and mildly miffed most of the time?

Yes, that's it, although it's not as useful as i'd hoped it would be. Ta though.
It does still raise an interesting point though: does it matter? Is it horribly rockist of me to be mildly disappointed by the idea that Girls Aloud don't really like what they're doing and would probably prefer duetting with Ja Rule?

Nicola seemed very nice indeed when I met her.
The only thing I have a problem with is the obvious attempt to kill the gingerness. Sad face.
