There's nothing wrong with them seperately, they've both had great songs seperately, but they should have just left the collaborations at 'Beautiful'. Snoops latest songs are really poor, the lyrics aren't at all interesting and there are no hooks.
I think the Neptunes are going a little downhill frankly but that's a completely different post.

Beautiful is such a classic that nothing they can do will ever beat that. I don't mind Drop It While It's Hot but that other new one just sounds cheap and effortless

Both are crap, never understood the appeal of the Neptunes at all.

never understood the appeal of the Neptunes at all. These two things might not be unconnected.

I loathe snoop. It is irrational but he repels me. "Drop it..." is my most hated song at the moment.

I think Snoop is at a really good place right now. "Drop it while its hot" was great but I think "Let's get blown" is just fantastic, so catchy. Pharrell, as well as being easy on the eye is a genius.

The Snoop I like to remember is still the "Doggystyle" Snoop from back in the day, that was THE anthem for everyone at my school back then.

Snoop is in serious need of some GHDs from the look of his latest video.

Drop It Like It's Hot is one of those rare songs that has withstood excessive airplay and still sounds fresh to me. I cannot stop listening to it even though it's completely vacuous. Let's Get Blown is pretty. I think Snoop & Pharrell are a great team.
But then I am a complete bitch for the Neptunes. I loved the Clipse album, I loved Clones, I even love the songs they've done with C-list people like 702 (I Still Love You gets me every time and Star is lovely), Nivea (Runaway is very urgent and emotional), Foxy (the awesome Candy) etc. My current favourite song is Hollaback Girl. They are just completely brilliant- I mean these are the people who gave us Southern Hospitality, Beautiful, Milkshake, Girlfriend Remix, What Happened To That Boy, Light Your Ass On Fire, How Many Licks Remix, Lapdance, Got Your Money, Like I Love You, I'm A Slave 4 U, Grindin', Caught Out There, Blow My Whistle....How can you NOT love them!
And Snoop gets a lifetime pass for Doggstyle.

Snoop hasn't done anything great since the early 90s. His face is starting to look more and more terrifying over the years too.

I like Comedy Smoop more than I like Music Snoop. He was recently on Celebrity Black Jack (competing against, amongst others, Jason Alexander who was George in Seinfeld). He had had a French Manicure for all the hand close-ups which was one of the scariest things I've ever seen. He also told everyone that if he had lost, he just would have robbed them on the way out.
Pharrell can be a bit samey, but he has had his moments of wonderousness, it would be better if he was slightly more restrained in his output.

Snoop hasn't done anything great since the early 90s. Only, the complete opposite of that is true. He hasn't killed anyone, for starters. But the records are better. Apart from the current album which is lyrically vile but he's post-divorce so I guess you have to allow him to let off steam.

I rather like Let's Get Blown but Drop It Like It's Hot is dire, I can't listen to it for more than about 30 seconds, it annoys the hell out of me - hello, tune, where are you?
As for the Neptunes, the last year has been a bit disappointing for them, bar Kelis' Milkshake of course. They used to be so ubiquitous, I remember a while ago a figure was released showing the percentage of tracks on the radio produced by them and it was obscenely high. But apart from Nelly I can't recall anything much they've done - I think Kanye West, Outkast, Timbaland are probably more prolific nowadays, the Neptunes just seem to have lost their edge

Woah I completely disagree. Doggstyle is the only good album he has ever done. Chuuch to the Palace or whatever stupid name it had was alright but that's about it. And he has always been lyrically dubious. This was the man whose career was kickstarted by a song who's pivotal line was "bitches ain't shit but hoes and tricks." If anything his lyrical misogyny has become less aggravated over the years.
