what the hell are they doing!
a) they've pissed from a great height on a classic song b) they are by no means eye candy c) is this the popera they've been going on about? d)having not watched it, are they off of X-Factor?
basically, I am neither amused or impressed Get them off the stage! excuse my ranting...

I've just seen the video. I'm loving the whackiness of the 2 show girls/ transsexuals? who disrupt proceedings. Shame this didn't come out last year as it might have made the 100 best ever videos list.

I agree, listening to them is a truly woeful experience. The weird thing is that there may well be a market for their tripe on the back of x factor. Hilariously, that blonde, gurning twat is being touted as the 'eye candy.' Give me strength!

Shame this didn't come out last year as it might have made the 100 best ever videos list. If "best" means "crap", then yeah, maybe. Why would anyone in their right minds (apart from Queen maybe) record a cover of Bohemian Rhapsody, let alone release it as your debut single? They're doomed, doomed I tell you! If they're going down the covers route, Creep or Everybody Hurts (done in a non-boyband way) would have made some semblance of sense.

I think thats all a bit harsh. The produced version doesnt sound as good as the live version but i like it. Its a novelty yes, but was pretty impressive when i heard it performed on x factor for the first time.

I agree with Frommars, i think it sounds brilliant live - sends shivers down my pine. Not keen on the studio version though.

I really like it, they were the best on X-Factor. I didn't know you were all such elitist snobs.

I really like it, they were the best on X-Factor. That ranks with 'best looking member of the shadow Cabinet' on the damning-with-faint-praise scale. X Factor was such a sorry mess that I'm starting to wonder if I was too harsh on the Pop Idol 2 line-up.

But the video really is horrendous. I don't think my sarcasm was appreciated earlier when I said it could have been in contention for the best 100 videos. It induces cringes on a level Michelle McManus never managed. Shame on Louis for allowing this shit.

I bloody love G4. I hate this though.
The guitar piece is now some kind of orchestra mish mash. If they'd stuck to the guitar and tripled the number of transexuals and made them do the can can, they would have been onto a winner.

How is not liking utter-shite 'elitist'? It all just smacks of 'oh, it's a cover' and 'oh, they're from x-factor' like some cynical old hack with an axe to grind. Just give them their chance, i'd much rather see this succeed than for Steve to have longevity in his career. He'll get his tits out again.

Aside from the annoying song, they committed the most blatant act of reality pop cheating since Coyle's brazen efforts in Ireland. The blonde one got moist eyes for the cameras on the X factor due to his mum not being able to be there because she was "ill". Rather than the life threatening condition we may have deduced from such sobbing, the poor woman had nothing more than a bit of a sniffle.

I've got no problem with people releasing cover versions, and no problem with artists from 'reality' TV shows (well except Hayley Evetts, maybe). But this does nothing for me. Or rather it just makes me want to laugh, and not in a good way. I feel sorry for any poor bastards lumbered with the patronage of Louis Walsh, and I somehow doubt that Xenomania will be coming to the rescue of these old buskers.

Aye, that shameless piece of emotional blackmail ("vote for us 'cause me ma's a bit poorly") did bring the bile swirling to my lips. The blond thing also seemed to be imitating Will Young's famous Pop Idol retort, talking back to Simon Cowell to show what a courageous and determined fellow he was. It worked for Will, possibly because it was the first time someone did prove to be Simon's equal (or indeed his better). Sadly in blond thing's case (I've forgotten his name) it came across more as a sullen little whinge. Then again as it had probably been rehearsed and prompted by Louis Walsh, what else could one expect?

We saw the video on saturday morning while hungover. Laughed solidly from start to finish - the best tonic I could've hoped for. So, on that note - I love G4 and hope they do more comedy songs. Can we have "I Want to Break Free" next lads? Gotta see the blonde one hoovering.

The reason so many people hate them has nothing to do with elitism. It's about the fact that any song they sing, regardless of whether it's rock/pop/ballad or up-tempo, ends up sounding exactly the bloody same, and vastly inferior to the original. Just because they can technically sing doesn't mean they are any good as artists. I mean, could you really stand to sit through a whole album of them singing all these different genres of songs in exactly the same way.
Still they'll appeal to the Il Divo crowd *shudder*

I have NEVER understood how anyone could think they were good. When I saw their audition on X Factor I thought they were supposed to be a comedy point-n-laugh audition, and laugh I did. When the judges starting raving it was like woah. I do not get it. They look like unjustifiably arrogant estate agents who wouldn't make it past an extremely minor Haven holidays talent competition. The whole band just screams smug.

They are the worst reality TV product by far. And by that I mean worse than Michelle McManus, One True Voice AND David Sneddon. They are utterly crap and there's something about all 4 of them that irritates me so much. Haven't heard their ruin of Bohemian Rhapsody yet though - I may change my mind about them but I doubt that somehow.

That really did make me laugh out loud. Can anyone now deny that Louis Walsh needs to be taken out and shot? I thought the Black Eyed Peas supporting Christina was too horrific a torture, but this is monstrous. Never has it been more de rigeur to be fashionably late and miss the support act.

I don't mean to a) offend anyone, or b) lump anyone together, but I get the feeling that if they were buff American hotties then half of the board would love them. I'm quite a fan to be honest, although I realise that they're not to everyone's taste. I haven't seen the video yet (largely as i've just started working for a slavedriver - not literally) but i'll keep an eye out. Thing is though, Creep should definitely have been the first single. Brilliant vocals, wide open spaces and the occasional percussion burst for atmosphere. Phil Spector would have been proud. (Please no-one ask me who...)
Edit: And just for the record, I find a couple of them really rather cute, in a public-schoolboy kind of way...

Just saw the video - how I laughed. And I was never a fan of them on the show, but this studio version is even worse which just adds insult to injury.

They look like unjustifiably arrogant estate agents who wouldn't make it past an extremely minor Haven holidays talent competition. The whole band just screams smug. This is very close to how I reacted. I hoped Cowell wouldn't be too damning, and when he was the opposite I was a bit taken aback. But a joke or not, I liked the way they sang. And I still do. The video of that song now is kind of strange, but there's some quality to it. I find it slightly cringe-making, but I enjoy what they've done. And it's not one of those versions that soil the original, is it? When you hear Freddie Mercury sing it you're not disturbed by this interpretation. It could be right that this thread is in this section, because they do feel a bit like clowns. But my personal problem with them is that I missed them live in the finals; and people like Storm and Numanumayay have convinced me that they might never be as good on record as they were then. That they should support Girls Aloud on tour seems like a bad, bad idea. Maybe you people are right if you say that Louis Walsh isn't the most perfectly wonderful person ever?
