Okay, so the last one's a joke. Maybe they'll be sweeping the dressing rooms next year.

It's a tough call....
My immediate reaction, in this and any other situation, would be anti-Robbie, and the crushing inevitability of "Angels" winning best song of the last millennium.
On reflection though, I think the Joss Stone best Urban thing has to be the one to be singled out for most abuse. She shouldn't have been eligible for nomination in the first place, and to win over the likes of Mikey S and Jamelia is farcical.
The brits have a long and continuing history of fucking up and generally misunderstanding, under-representing and patronising black/dance/urban music, demonstrated by the way the category keeps chopping and changing every year.

Robbie just shades it for me - the cunt ever forgot to thank Guy Chambers for writing it for him.
I want to know what he meant by singing the chorus of Love Will Tear Us Apart after Angels - was that a dig, or was he admitting his embarrasment that his turgid pish had beaten a true classic?

Where's "The Streets win an award for basically talking very boringly over some rubbish tune"?

It seemed to me that he was just making sure everyone knew that he likes 'credible' music too.

Where's "The Streets win an award for basically talking very boringly over some rubbish tune"? Oh but the Streets are genius, not least for Mike Skinner's amazing illusion in convincing the world that a group of (at least) four people is a solo artist.

Robbie just shades it for me - the cunt ever forgot to thank Guy Chambers for writing it for him. And also for such a dire performance! He didn't even bother to sing most of the song - Joss bloody Stone & the crowd sang most of it. AND what was with Joss Stone being there anyway...I take it it was a 'I'm still down with the kids' on Robbie's part!

But he writes, programmes and produces everything on the albums. There's no one else signed to the record or publishing deal as The Streets except Mike Skinner. So he's a solo act. That he uses a band and singers doesn't make him any different to any other solo act (except the ones who just play an acoustic guitar with no backing). I think you're just getting confused because he calls his project The Streets instead of Mike Skinner.

I voted for Mrs Federline but Robbie comes a close second - like anyone at all would like that song if it wasn't him (See Jessica Simpson)

I voted for Angels winning best song - I can't remember exactly what else was made up the short list but I seem to recall something by Queen being in there, which immediately negates Robbie's song.

Okay, so the last one's a joke. I'm hoping the one about the Bedingfield's was too. Brits? who cares, didn't even watch.

The Bedingfield duet was SO VERY WRONG! A brother and sister should not sing a song that is obviously about shagging! Urgh!

I'm hoping the one about the Bedingfield's was too. While I certainly wouldn't get my rocks off watching those two leering and slobbering over each other, I think it would have added to the whole 'circus freak show' vibe that the Bedingfield clan so meticulously perfect.

What an exaggeration, they werent leering and slobbering over each other. The song wasnt even in a "sexy" style, it was an angry/shouty version. As i said before they werent singing it to each other, they were singing it to the audience.

A question - why was Britney's "toxic" on the Brits 25 album when she wasnt even nominated?

I managed to lose £20 in bets for the Brits.
It was a mixture of my misunderstanding the voting demographic (I bet on Queen instead of Robbie Williams thinking "The Queen song is better" instead of "The Robbie song is more recent.")
Also bet on Natasha Bedingfield for best female and Will Young for best male (thinking they'd be dead certs with the voters, for some reason)
You see, I have the finger on the pulse of music - it's just that the heart has stopped .

Okay, so the last one's a joke. I laughed harder at the first one, personally. Each to his own etc. My choice was Angels, although it was more depressingly inevitable than anything else.

You haven't got Will Young winning best single or Bob Geldof getting outstanding contribution.

You haven't got Will Young winning best single or Bob Geldof getting outstanding contribution. I don't begrudge Sir Gandalf his award - just be grateful it didn't go to someone like Hooky from New Order (although I almost felt sorry for Hooky when I read about his psycho daughter thing. Almost being the operative word). Saint Will deserved to win something, even if Your Game clearly wasn't the year's Best Single. Whom would you have preferred to win? Sugababes' In The Middle? BandAid20? I rest my case...

I wouldn't say that Jamelia left empty-handed, from what I saw she had a good grip on Lemar.

You mean Joss Stone isn't really a worthy successor to Lemar? Lemar's not an "urban" act either. Since when is old-school MOR/soul classified as "urban" music? The Brits logic there appears to be: black artist = urban. And what ever happened to the dance category? Didn't the Sugababes win that one the last time it was hauled out? Farcical all round.

I was at the Princess Diana Memorial Concert in December 1997. That was the first time Robbie performed Angels live, the last time he ever performed Angels seriously.
I think there should be a 'Best Group' category, with groups that don't play instruments (e.g. Sugababes and Girls Aloud ) nominated. It's annoying that neither of them got any awards, thing is, it's would end up like the Grammys...so many different categories that people end up walking away with a million...or 8.

Where's "The Streets win an award for basically talking very boringly over some rubbish tune"? Quite! That's what I think too. Did you see him petulantly throw a tantrum on the Behind the Scenes programme last week? The one with Kate Thornton. Berk! If he was my son I'd give a clip round the ear.

I managed to lose £20 in bets for the Brits. .....Will Young for best male (thinking they'd be dead certs with the voters, for some reason) . The problem with that is that it wasn't the general public who picked the Best Male (or Best Female). It was one of the Brits committees. Sorry you lost your money. And you are right, Will should have won Best Male, without a doubt.

I never understand these things like when Will got best single but not best male - Surely if you had the best single of last year then you are the best male?

The dance category was dropped in place of this year's live category (or the Muse award as it should have been called).
I think best video was dropped for the Darkness award (best rock - shown up to be a ludicrous category this year) last year.
They move the awards with the times. Watch out for Best Pop Puppet and Least Likely to Be Here Next Year awards in 2006.
When Robbie will no doubt get outstanding contribution (ugh)
