Urm. She's great. I only caught a bit of her on Jonathan Ross. But I like Crazy Chick. She's also very pretty.

And in today's music world, you only sound good if you're a size 2! Society has become ever so annoying. But I think We're heading out of that "look good= sing well" rut. Charlotte Church may not be the next Britney or Christina, but She's got potential to be something. Let's hope she stays original

Having watched Charlotte on JR last night, and recalled Kelly Osbourne's painstaking appearance a few weeks ago, it's clear that Char has the personality and talent to match the image. She's a bright girl who clearly enjoys what she's doing. I'm still hoping she comes into my cafe in Cardiff so I can give her a cappuccino on the house!

your career is over please go home Her career is hardly over, she has a single coming out in a few weeks that's been well-received and she gets frequent press coverage. Also she has a lot more creditability than your ordinary popstar.

Her live performances of the song are spectacularly ordinary and karaoke-like. I'm sure she enjoys what she's doing, but I reckon that alhough she may have been special once, she certainly isn't now.

I think she's fabulous. Pop music sucks recently, so to have someone, that actually possesses the X factor is great. As a performer, she's really good. She's also good to be interviewed. Unlike some artists, when interviewed she doesn't come across as boring. Also, as someone pointed out, being A listed on both radio 1 and radio 2 shows that her career is far from over. Her pop career is only just beginning, and I for one can not wait.

I think she's great. She has a lot more charisma than your average teen pop star, and the songs aren't too bad either.

I like her, she's not a skinny stick, and doesn't want to be.If she gave up the fags and booze(a bit)she'd be an excellent role model.Has a lovely voice.

agreed on the point that she should give up the cigaretts and the booze, honestly it is is bad.
she would be fantastic as a role model, minus the cggs etc. Mainly because it will show that even in the public eye, and growing up that way, she showed determination with her school work, and got good grades.

What I love about Charlotte is that she's so nice but lots of girls hate her just because she's her, and pick out pointless, overly-fickle reaosns to hat eher because they can't say "she can't sing", "she's a slag", "her music is shite", "she's a minga!" because, quite frankly, none of those are true.
Example, when she was on Jonathon Ross the other week, my stepsister said "I don't like her. She's got lots of back flat. A flabby back. Know wha' I mean?"

Charlotte's biggest problem coming into the pop world is the fact that she was one of the most succesful opera singers in the world. Not to mention that she also was a "child star". I do think she has a lot of potential in the UK and Europe, but I don't see her being succesful in the USA really. (Note: Charlotte's vocal version of Fraue's Pavane was amazing)

If, or more scarily when the nations young adults stop smoking and drinking, I'm taking the first plane out of here. As flufff already said, Charlotte is by far and away the best and most realistic (in terms of success) slice of British pop we've had for a long while. There's something for everyone. Can't fail.

Charlotte is pretty and can definitely sing though I don't think Crazy Chick is that good. I can't even get the tune stuck on my mind. Then again, she's just, guess you could say, starting. Just wait and see how her next single goes.

There are plenty of singers who have proved to be successful after being child stars: Britney, Christina, Michael Jackson, Lindsay Lohan, Hilary Duff, Justin and, heck, even the Osmonds!

What's wrong with being a child star? There are plenty of singers who have proved to be successful after being child stars: Britney, Christina, Michael Jackson, Lindsay Lohan, Hilary Duff, Justin and, heck, even the Osmonds! Britney, Christina, Justin - 'child stars' in that they were on a kids TV show, can't really be compared to singing in front of the pope Michael Jackson - child stardom turned him into a mentalist Lindsay + Hilary - yet to really prove themselves as proper stars, at least in the pop world anyway So if Charlotte manages to come out of the whole thing unscathed and manages a successful grown up career as well good luck to her. Although, much as Crazy Chick is a great tune, it's rendered completely unlistenable (for me anyway) byt the ridiculous lyrics.

from the discussion about her and cheryl tweedy in the other board, ive just realised the extent of ow much i hate this person
shes under this really wrong misconception that by slating artists better than her she will sell more records. dont get me wrong this may well work for 2/3 singles, but does she seriously think that by the time her 4th and 5 th singles come out shell still be able to get attention by slagging people off?
no, because people will be bored of her slagging people off by then. she might - heaven forbid - actually have to concentrate on making some good music, instead of assaulting the nation with phrases like "wacked out chick"
the way she gets off on putting acts better than her down, then thinking she looks better for doing it afterwards. bullshit. she looks shallow, and needs to get her head from up her arse and realise she is not even near a decent artist. slagging people off does not make her a good aritst
and the whole "wow, look at her, shes so up front!" - bullshit

Helen0888, can you please show me a quote from Charlotte about Cheryl. With a source. I think you'll find there isn't one. I think you'll find that Charlotte hasn't said a single word about Cheryl and that Cheryl didn't say what the Sun reported her as saying. Where, also, are the quotes from Charlotte "slating artists better than her"? We understand you don't like her or her music but it doesn't really work if you back up that dislike with fiction. It makes you seem a bit silly.

Charlotte is fab.
Since when has anything that is 'reported' (and I use the term loosely) in the Sun ever been used on here to back up an argument?
I hope that hell will freeze over before they get away with it if they try.

Most of us on here have the sense to disregard these sorts of rumoured criticisms, but even if they were true (and I love Cheryl as much as most people on here), I think it's hilarious to imply she's a 'better artist' than Charlotte.
Besides, Charlotte is a great artist with or without slagging anyone else off. I know people won't like her music, or her personality, but only a fool would say she's not good at what she does.
