I recently posted a thread entitled I'm Afraid Of Tyler James where I proceeded to call him a 'fake fuck', a 'maunfacutred twat' and worst of all I insulted his 'crazy legs'.
Well I take it all back. I have just seen and heard his version of 'Your Woman' and it's possibly better than the original. Okay so his legs are still crazy but what a song! Sexual ambivalence always makes me cheer!

I heard that on Radio 2 this morning and was ever so confused. I guess that's probably a good thing. Hope this helps. x.

When can we expect the apology to Jentina?

When Jentina covers a classic, amazing song, and does it justice?

Nah. Sorry but White Town's version is much better in my opinion. I watched the video today and he's such a charmless performer and the video is dull dull dull. The only vaguely interesting thing about it is the sexual ambiguity really.

I agree that the original is far superior. It's annoying that they've used almost exactly the same backing track but then you just hear his voice, which isn't that special, and feel disappointed. It all reminds me of the debacle that was Phixx's Wild Boys.
Did he keep the computer beep noises from White Town's version? They were the best part.

It's not really that good is it? At best almost identical, at worst pointless.

A joke, surely? White Town's version was brilliant and Tyler's is not.

It's that old chestnut - underperforming new artist trots out well-known cover to salvage sinking career. To be fair, it's not the worst example of this practice. Unlike Amy Studt's All I Wanna Do, it doesn't leave you pondering how much quicker the Spanish Inquisition's job could have been.
However, it still adds nothing to the song (unless we're counting the ill-fitting 'said I was a charming, handsome man - what happened to the sexual ambiguity everyone's going on about?) and the production sounds like a head-on collision between a karaoke machine and an 80s Yamaha keyboard. I can't see this turning things around for him at all.

I don't think it's a bad attempt, and you never know if it'll work or not, though I get the vibe it'll drop in between where his last two records charted. It's certainly not a career making single at this point.

I thought you'd be apolagising for the pointless, awful cover then. Sorry.

I(unless we're counting the ill-fitting 'said I was a charming, handsome man - what happened to the sexual ambiguity everyone's going on about? It makes sense when Tyler is singing though. Grrr. I really like this, I think its a case of when the artist meets their perfect cover version. I hope it does well enough for him to release his album in August, I'm really looking forward to that.

He seems so sexless! Is he a boy or a girl? He has no sex appeal at all! Hence he's Your Woman.

I dont like him, seen him live supporting Natasha and was not really impressed.
Dont think much of this video or his version, much prefer the original too.

According to his web site he will be supporting McFly on Sept 3rd at the somewhat bizarre setting of a wild animal park in Kent.
I wonder how he will go down with McFly fans?

i've decided, and therefore it should be taken as gospel, that i like it. It isn't as good as the original, but it's perfectly listenable, and he is superbly quiff-tastic, so what more do you need? and if you listen to it after tanita tikaram it seems to make sense for no apparent reason.
