I find them grating, horrendous and hideously local radio. PJ disagrees, citing their love of Pop as reason enough to keep them on the air. Does that mean Jonathan King, with his love of Pop, should fill in for Edith while she's away this week? No of coruse not! Argh!
What do you think? This afternoon's show was the clincher for me when JK (or Joel? can't tell either of them apart as they both make me die a little inside with every syllable they utter) decided to do some "hilarious" joking about revealing the future plot of Lost.
They shouldn't be allowed. Not to broadcast plot spoilers, nor just not to broadcast: JK and Joel, quite simply, should not be allowed. Full stop.
Your thoughts? It's got to the point where I turn off the radio in between songs as their links ar too excruciating, and at some small level I hope that I'll affect listening figures (even though I know it makes no difference).

I'm not listening to the Chart Show as much these days - even Wes was bearable at times.

I felt bad for Wes - essentially fired to be replaced by those morons. It's like Radio 1 have given up ont eh chart in the same way the BBC gave up on TotP

I just don't listen, you can always see the chart online. And they dont even play the full top 40 anyway.

It's interesting how songs already on the station's playlist will always get played, whilst new entries in the lower part of the chart are given a tiny 'window' of about 30 seconds (if you're lucky) before the gormless chatter resumes.

I wasn't a fan of Wes, but at least he was bearable. These two just can't be listened to.
So I have resorted to reading the chart on line and listening instead to one of the made up charts like Hit40UK

I think the "problem" with JK and Joel is that they are pitched at kids and so are actively encouraged to be immature. PJ disagrees, citing their love of Pop as reason enough to keep them on the air. Does that mean Jonathan King, with his love of Pop, should fill in for Edith while she's away this week? No of coruse not! Argh! No, because when Jonathonn King did it, pitching himself at kids meant something else entirely.

One of the two plonkers named James Blunt's 'You're Beautiful' as his favourite song of the year. That's enough to hate them, but they seems like tossers overall.

I was listening to them last week and for some reason they played some interview they did with Feeder (what was that? who? EXACTLY!) then a mashup of the past 20 years in music or something bollocks like that. Doing polls to find out whether people really want to listen to the Crazy Frog's latest shit-spurt or would prefer to chew on glass is fucking annoying; if there are cunts enough to buy the single, then there'll be cunts enough to text in a 'Yes, shit-spurt for me, please'.

I hate their name for a start. They sound like a cabaret act who are a little bit 'street'.

Why are radio 1 DJs not allowed surnames any more? These two should be sent back to local radio as soon as possible. I stopped listening to the chart when Goodybags left, and this won't hasten me back.

The only people Radio 1 listen too are thier coke dealers. Everyone else is too old, sorry, not their "audience". I was suprised they booted Wes off because it was actually a good idea, but then they replaced him with the 2 local radio cunts. One good thing.. I suppose they do connect as every bank holiday listeners shows how comedy the UK's music taste is with requests for Ghostbusters..

they also are still using the words 'fit' and 'totty'
two perfect reasons to dislike them.

I was waiting for Neighbours to come on yesterday evening and while CBBC was on this occured to me:
JK and Joel are the Dik and Dom of radio.
Pleased I'm not the only person to find them cuntish in the extreme.

A couple of weeks ago they ran a phone-in to find people whose 'relationship song' was James Blunt's "You're Beautiful". This was serious -- they seemed unaware that the song's key line "And I'll never be with you". What's worse is that a whole load of gormless cunts phoned in. This kind of behaviour only encourages them.
Have you ever noticed that their "banter" has no point? Chris Moyles, while often despicable, tends to round off his links with a punchline... JK and Joel just talk until they get bored (or, more realistically, until the producer starts the next track in order to get them to shut up). They're hopeless, hopeless buffoons.

Capital punishment: should it be brought back: a) Immediately b) Presently c) At once? You decide.

So James Blunt is the new Babybird, it seems. Only in that one way, of course, not the actual 'good aside from that one single' way.

Jeebus. I think the people who choose 'You're Beautiful' as 'their song' are the same sort of people who use the word 'Babes' as a term of affection.
Cunts, then.

They're currently on that Worst Celebrity Driver thing on 5, being just as annoying as ever. At least we have Scott Mills on the chart for 3 weeks, which is delightful.
I happened to catch 5 minutes of the Celebrity Driver thing the other night, and Joel managed to make himself look a prick by insulting a rally-driving lady, who was a guest on the programme, by shouting "What kind of haircut's that? You're supposed to be a woman!" at her across the studio. No laughter from the audience. It was classic.
If only there was an audience in the radio studio with them. Then maybe they'd stop their annoying "cheeky-chappie" routine and shut up.

At first I didn't know who the hell you guys were talking about until I remebered the top 40 chart show they slaughtered. I only started listening to this (via internet obviously) back when Wes was the host and he was great compared to these idiots. Now I just come to these forums or wait until Monday (almost Tuesday for you UKers) to see any surprises or not going on in the charts which are way superior than the Hot 100 of the States.
