I honestly dont see the appeal. 'Baby Boy' was a good song that he featured on and that is all. Does anyone actally understand a word he says? All it seems to me is mumbo jumbo and half naked girls. Or mabie thats the point?

I feel like that about the vast majority of hip-hop/rap stuff, but I think that's to do with my age. No, I can't make out a thing that he says, and even if I could I doubt if I'd understand what it meant!

You might as well criticise Daddy Yankee for rapping in Spanish or O-Zone for singing in Romanian if you're going to hold the fact that a Jamaican dancehall star performs with a heavy accent and uses a lot of local slang against him.

The thing is there not singing in another language-its english. I have Xtina's spanish album for example and adore it because evn though i dotn understand spanish i can hear what she is saying properly. Mumberling liek the speed of light in english has nothign to do with nationality.

I LOVE Sean Paul. How can you hate a man that dances like he does? We Be Burnin' is my favourite video of the year if only for his barmy dances. So some of his music is a bit strange but it takes a man with a heart of stone not to laugh merrily at his 'I don't like to brag but everyday I've gotta shag' lyric from Like Glue.
I thought Like Glue was a sweet romantic song until I actually took in the lyrics. Slap me.

Mumberling liek the speed of light in english has nothign to do with nationality. Most West Indians don't speak standard English, at least not in informal situations. They speak in patois, which is largely the same but has a lot of French, Spanish, Indian and African influences too. Add a thick accent and it's sometimes difficult for others to understand but no more than Mike Skinner would be to people in Kingston.

He's looking a bit too stylish these days. I liked the inexplicable nature of his awful fashion before.
I don't know why - cos I don't really like his tunes that much - but I find him kind of fascinating on some level. There was an interview with him in the Guardian Guide recently and he was expressing his dismay at homophobia in lyrics - for one nanosecond I thought I'd found a legitimate reason to like him - then he spoiled it completely by more or less saying that he's realised that homophobia in music is unwise because it's commercially-damaging if you're looking for mainstream success.

I love 'we be burning'! but I'm not keen on his other stuff. He seems like a nice guy, and I agree about the great dancing.

I really like Sean Paul. He's something different and new, which is something rarely seen now in the "Hiphop scene". In a Jay-Z and Naz sound-alike world, Sean paul really is refreshing. That said, he is quite hard to understand sometimes. But I bought his new album and I must say, all of the tracks are ace, especially the last track.

God knows what he's on about but his dances make up for his words.

I quite like Shaaarrrrrrn Paaarrrrrrl (as i believe its pronounced) because even though I cant understand a word of it at least its a bit different to everything else in the charts. Its for the same reason that I like Daddy Yankee. By the way, if anyone is thinking of buying the Daddy Yankee album you could save money by simply burning "Gasolina" onto a cdr 21 times.

On the grand scheme of things Sean Paul is quite harmless. Sort of like Nelly. My problem is with hip-hop/r 'n' b shitesters like Shiddy Cent and Akon.
