As i've said in another thread, X factor is fucking ridiculous. Every year the same type of people audition, every year the same type of people win, making pop steadily crapper each day. Dont get me wrong, i dont mind most pop music, as i was a busted obsessive, but when "talent" like liberty X, one true voice and all the other boy and girl bands on X factor releases a single, it makes me want to scream. How is pop gunna stop being seen as a joke if we continue to let jokes rule the charts?

You can tell you were a Busted fan. They used to say exactly the same thing in their weekly column in Sneak each week. That great vocalist, Charlie, was always extra vocal about how he'd never 'lower himself'. Well he wouldn't, would he?
Which boy-bands were there in X-Factor last year btw? If you mean G4, then are they really like the ones that went before, and the ones this year? Which groups are like Liberty-X? Girls Aloud?

I don't think you can blame X Factor for killing pop music - to be fair, there are still just as many good pop songs being released now that there were 5 years ago, it's just that the market has changed and at the moment it's "the thing" to like all rock bands to be repulsed by pop music.
I also wouldn't say that the same acts win every year - Will Young didn't set the trend for Girls Aloud, nor did Michelle McManus lay the foundations for Steve Brookstein (though, ultimately, they both followed the same fate).
If anything acts like Busted and Avril Lavigne killed pop music. They bridged the gap between pop and rock, and since pop had already been well exposed in the UK, people started to take to rock as it was something "new" and interesting.
And since you were a Busted fan, Emz, you had a hand in slipping the noose around pop's neck before kicking the chair from under it's legs.
You cow.

I don't think you can blame X Factor for killing pop music I agree. Really shit bands and singers are still inflicting themselves on us through the usual channels as well.
