I'm not sure they'd thank me for putting them on the Indie Board, but it'll probably get moved if it post it anywhere else.
Anyway, they've released one absolutely classic album ('You Will Have Your Revenge') which I've played so many times I'm in danger of wearing it out, and then... nothing.
I know they released a 12" around a year ago, but surely there's an album due. Their website is rarely updated as well, so that doesn't exactly help my quest for info. Does anybody know anything about their whereabouts, or indeed if they plan to release anything as ace as 'Me & My Piano'? The world needs them!

Their superglorious track "Your Body Needs My Sugar" is one of the superglorious highlights of the almost-entirely superglorious Robopop Cd on Lucky Pierre records. Tiny snippets of Baxendale info can be found at the www.robopop.com site. The first album would already appear to be pretty much entirely out of print, which is so very sucky.

I think you can still order the 12" of "My Body Needs Your Sugar". And you really ought to, as the b-side is tastically genius.
You also really ought to get your hands on a copy of "I Built this City" (try the Kashpoint compilation), which is their finest pop song yet, and (my sources tell me) has sparked some sort of record company interest. Hurrah!
Honestly, it's just the best thing ever (better than the toothbrush flirting in "Bring it On", even) and when Alex starts singing in falsetto - oh my - I just want to die from happiness as this, THIS is what pop music should always feel like.
I would go on, but Steven Trousse does it better.

I have just ordered (and received) the album fro Amazon US, and i have to say as much as I like "Music for girls", I can't seem to get into the rest of it. If you like Baxendale there's another band called MACONDO, theyre similar and they are brilliant- their album "up here for thinking" is one of my faves

I've heard a couple of Macondo tracks, and to be honest, wasn't that impressed. I'll probably buy the album though and give it a few proper listens.
I was sent a copy of 'The Revenge Has Just Begun', with a couple of new tracks on the end, by Tim from Baxendale. 'I Built This City' is so obviously one of the best songs from the last 10 years. World class pop. No wonder there's record company interest!

I have this song and I agree, it is absolutely incredible. One of the very best songs I've heard this year, it's quite a treasure. I hope the 'record company interest' really gets them somewhere, cos I know sometimes this kind of thing is promised then the record companies just can't get their act together, ultimately letting a top song fall through the cracks. This must not happen to I Built This City! Jessica

i can see why...I actually stumbled across one of their songs on one of those Synthpop compilations from A Different Drum, and just found it annoying.. but then somehow "live life to the min" found its way onto my I pod, and the line "i'm on the brink of something small, not doing anything at all" kept sticking in my mind and making me smile, so eventually I bought the album, and it really is very good! i'm really curious about "city" now though, where can I get to hear it?

It's always being played at Our Disco at Plastic People in Shoreditch. That's how I know of it. Amazing song. No chance of reforming?

Hold on a second, people with haircuts in trendy clubs I'm scared to go to like Baxendale now?
What is the world coming to..?
In my head at least I'm going to take partial credit for this belated success after having played 'Battery Acid' and 'Music For Girls' to empty dancefloors in indie dives for the past four years.
Well done though and please reform, I love you.

I used to go to a club that played The Bax version of The HL's 'Fascination' now and again as well as 'Music for girls'. But the dance floor did sometimes get busy...
