must...resist...temptation...
No, it's no good - they were more than ace. They were the best! 'Passive Soul' is, as I've said a million times before, the best album ever made.
Have you tried Fosca, Dickon Edwards group? If not I can highly recommend both their albums ('On Earth To Make The Numbers Up' & 'Diary Of An Antibody'), as well as Dickon's online diary, which is sheer genius.
I really must try harder not to comment every time someone mentions them.

yeah, the more i listen to it, the more i've been inclined to agree. i'm so glad it wasn't what i was listening to when my CD player fell off the table on a train the other day and broke itself and the Fiona Apple CD it contained. it took me 5 years to find a copy of it, and i don't want to have to live another 5 years without it... not even 5 days if i can help it. i have Dickon on my livejournal friendlist, but i'm not sure that i'm convinced by what i've heard of Fosca. this page rather put me off them, as well.

Where's Tim when you need him? Actually, where is Tim? I've not seen him on the board for ages.

Where's Tim when you need him? Actually, where is Tim? I've not seen him on the board for ages. Maybe he's feverishly working on a glorious comeback? But you're right, he's been conspicuous by his absence lately. I last saw him (in the flesh) at a Martha Wainwright gig here in Londons very own East End, but that was ages ago.

Genius!!! another one of those bands where I just don't understand what went wrong- they should have been loved by millions, instead people just seemed to hate them.Maybe it was just bad timing, but then I wonder, would they be more successful in today's chilly pop climate? I doubt it...
