YYYYY!
Finally! 2 months to go! And it's been nearly three years. The photo on their official site looks alarmingly mellow though.
Hopefully thats another spot filled at PJ£20MP.
So happy. Ill give the oldies a few spins now. Ahh

I'm seeing them at the Shaw Theatre in London on Wednesday! It's tiny! And I like the new single a lot, plus I saw someone say that the new album sounds slightly more like 100 Broken Windows than The Remote Part which sounds promising

I saw them in Manchester tonight. It was lit by fairylights and quite desperately twee at times, but ace all the same. New stuff sounds a bit more subdued than I'd hope, but hard to tell from the folky, acoustic renditions they were doing.

Can't wait can't wait can't wait.
I love Idlewild. I never got round to buying 100 Broken Windows but I shall at some point as I'm aware it;s supposedly even better than The Remote Part.
Can't wait for the news. Squeeee as they say!

What's the new single like? I was quite the Idlewild fanatic, but am alarmed at the trend whereby the raw punk-pop noise of the Captain EP is heading (inexorably?) towards music to wet beds by.
Oh who am I kidding. I know I'll pre-order their album and then see them at the Octagon either way.

18 seconds short of being the perfect three and a half minute required length for pop-greatness, it's the usual Idlewild sound with a fantastic chorus "You say something stupid like love steals us from loneliness, happy birthday!" Then it has a fantastic woah-oh-oh-oh-wo-oh-woah bit that makes the song so tremendous basically!

Good album.....athough 'El Captain' seems to be the only thing with any of the 'kick ass' appeal of old (Although it's more of a 'Pounding' 'Chocolate' 'Ashes' bouncy beat driven affair) 'I Want A Warning' is quite hard too.....But also a bit of a racket.
Whole album is rather mellow truth be told more 'American English' than 'Little Discourage' if you thought The Remote Part was a cop out, you'll hate it...

Can I just take a moment to point out that "Love Steals Us From Loneliness" is the best pop song of the year.
Not only that, but it's also fully translatable into other genres - you can easily imagine an electro-pop version, maybe a future project for Frankie & Calvin?
Melodies just don't get any better than this. Completely masterful.

I wanted to go and see them at Rock City, but there's no way in hell I'd pass for 18 (despite being 17). Damn my youthful good looks!

I'm going to see them in Leeds on the 26th April - can't wait, it'll be the second time I've seen them in concert. The first time I'd only heard 'you held the world in your arms', didn't know any of the other songs, and still had an ace time.
This time I expect to know a lot more songs, and have an even better time.

Just wait until you hear 'As If I Haven't Slept' from the new album. It's the best-three-and-a-half -minute-pop-song-by-a-band-not-on-PJ.com you'll hear this year.

Geezus!
I have forcefed the album on myself for good twenty spins and it's only just now that I've found another track that's actually any good and is not the bloody marvellous lead single .... ladies and gentlemen, check out The Space Between All Things.
Tune alert!

The new album is pretty good, although i do prefer The Remote Part.
Their great new single 'El Capitan' is out this week, but unfortunately it isn't getting much airplay on TV or radio. Radio 1 haven't even added it to their playlist, the bastards.

Interesting that, Radio1 had 'Love Steals Us...' on their 'A-list' and the subsequent two singles haven't made it. Granted, those singles are a bit shit, and the album is a bit iffy. The Space Between All Things. Tune. Fucking Roddy Woomble, after The Remote Part they could have gone far but he had to fulfil his REM/folk/shite lyrics aspirations throughout much of 'Warnings/Promises' and us fans had to grin and bare it. Slide guitars? Fuck off....
