www.pittysing.com/Looks like these kids may turn out to be 2005's Killers. The full-length is decent (a C+ or B-) overall, sort of loses its way towards the end. Probably better than The Killers' LP. Samey and derivative but loads of mainstream appeal, and at least 2 potentially big singles. The lyrics appeal to my inner 13-year-old goth ("We'll fuck on the radio," "When it feels like we're in love/Just remember we're on drugs"). The production's the star. Early Lillywhite with 2005 radio polish. choicest cuts on first listen: "Radio," "We're On Drugs," "Telephone," "Hanging On Me"

I remember that "Radio" song, in radio edit form - "We'll flick on the radio" which someone sent me back last year.
I have been quite impressed on listening to their other stuff more recently but I find it very difficult to agree that the album's better than "Hot Fuss". As you say though, it's certain the production that takes centre stage - the lyrics are pretty poor in comparison to The Killers.
If they get the promotion I guess they could do well but I'd hasten that it's no great loss if they're left unnoticed as loads of these "second generation Killers" type bands will be.
