J'adore les Clor!
I'd been waiting for this record all last week, and on monday nipped down to HMV where I also got the good, but not as brilliant, Client album.
Where do I start? The start? The CD actually takes a while to get going, the first track is pretty faceless. The singles are very nice though ((although Outlines is the weirdly quietest song ever)). Just when track 5 rolls off you think your getting into ballad-country, but thats where your wrong.
Stuck in a Tight Spot is a superb Do Me Bad Things meets Bjork's 'Enjoy', Dangerzone is miles better than miss Stefani's one, Magic Touch is the funkiest Prince-thing ever and the album ends with the still brilliant Goodbye ((hello Spice Girls!)).
The guys voice I grew to love at the end of the album, and their beats are just brilliant!
J'adore les Clor!

I've only heard Love and Pain and Outlines but already I think Clor are rather good. Definately going to try and get the album.
My stupid town doesn't have any music shops so i'll have to try the internet or wait until i'm in a city. Bugger.

They are rather good. Very different live to on record. Live they sound like a rather generic indie band with keyboards - on record, however, they seem a lot more interesting. The sound's jerkier and more quirkily electronic.
It's a bit of a shame the singing's a bit of an acquired taste, otherwise it could easily turn out to be a crossover hit. One to watch nevertheless.

The sound's jerkier and more quirkily electronic. I've not heard them on record, but did see them live (supporting FischerSpooner) and they were pretty good, in a lets-all-go-back-to-the-80's-one-more-time kinda way. They certainly had good choons and some nice strip lights at the front of the stage, although they lacked anything that might pass for charisma. Fewer guitars and more electronics would certainly improve matters considerably, so I look forward to hearing their elpee.

Been debating whether to start this thread all week, but I'm glad someone else did it. This is my album of the year so far (well this week anyway) I thought they were going to be a straightforward guitar band, but no, there's crazy electronic things going on and some tracks which border on classic late 90's twee. Its just a shame they do that skinny tie thing...

WOah woah woah woah!!
The first track is not faceless - unless the listing has changed from the promo one - its 'good stuff' and its one of the best tracks on the album.

I'm a little disappointed with Clors album, it's got some good songs but far to many mediocre ones. A thumbs down from me.
