OK, Garbage, a band well known for touring extensively have cancelled their "Bleed Like Me" tour. Gutted, especially as I have to go to the effort of having to return my tickets. As a lot of people have said, there's more to this than the statement the band have issued. They claim that they've simply "overextended themselves", but I think the end is nigh. I wouldn't be surprised really. I do like the last two albums, but they're nowhere near the quality of the first two.

A split is very probable...aren't they on the verge of splitting every time they're in a studio together?
Still, four albums, plenty of singles for a nice greatest hits, plus they might now finally get round to putting out the B Sides/Remixes collection they've been promising for the last five years.

Bah at split.
I saw them at Glastonbury and then watched them again 2 weeks later at Exit. They were really good live, mainly cos of the quality of the songs. Everyone is a massive tune!

maybe its to do with the fact they were here already in May for the warm up tour which was in a few cities in europe - they just are not that big here anymore plus the ticket prices have shot up since they did the BG tour. I thnink all the ppl who were willing to shell out the 1st time wont do so again a second time. setlist wasnt very good either - few suprises.
they are still touring america over the next few months.

I hope they don't split. I didn't like the last two albums as much as the first two, but Shirley Manson has always been my icon and role model, and it would be such a shame if I was deprived of any future feistiness.

I think Shirley will be very keen to go solo by now. It'll be Gwen Steffani all over again.

At the end of the day, Geri cancelled her tour and she's still going strong.
Oh.

Shirley will carry on, surely. Upon reading this thread, I was scared at the thought that Shirley's possible solo material would lose its Garbage-feel. However, I remembed that Tony Kanal produced a couple of Gwen's songs on L.A.M.B, and now I think that all this means is that the faceless members of Garbage will just step back into the shadows to be American and have kids and wives and maybe do a little production for Shirley on the side.

I'm really annoyed. I was looking forward to their gig in Brum, it was blatantly the last chance I would get to see them (before they split). But now this. What a bugger!
I'd be suprised if they don't split very soon.
