Can i just say...what an extraordinary album.
It really is a modern version of the Violator era. Its deep, dark, progressive and i came away feeling dirty after listening to it.

oh. my. god.
Violator is my all-time favourite album.
Is it really that good? I can barely wait til the end of the month.

Love the Mode, not heard the new stuff. My mate is always ranting on about the genius of Violator he loves it he does. The last new stuff they did was a bit Mode by Numbers, so hoping this new track is more than that?

I'm massively disappointed with this - there don't seem to be any actual tunes there, Precious and Lillian are the only songs I can see working as singles. A shame, really.

same here, I'm really disappointed, it sounds boring and slightly dated, and I was expecting so much after people's first reactions..

John The Revelator is one of the best songs they have ever done. Will be MASSIVE live.

'John The Revelator' is an interesting choice for a Depeche Mode cover. I'm trying to think if they have done any other covers in their career.

'Route 66', 'Moonlight Sonata' (can you call a reworking of a piece of classical music a cover?) & they used to do a version of 'Mouldy Old Dough' live. And Martin's two covers albums.

Please note that Goldfrapp's remix of "A Pain That I'm Used To" is PHENOMENAL. A real deconstruction but it retains the core melody and makes the song sort of pastoral. Creepy vocodered vocals that some fans won't like though. If I had been WIll and Alison I might have brought in his normal vocals at the end.

Am bumping this because I just saw the tour. PHENOMENAL! A lot of young people will skip tjhis over and have no clue what they are missing. Anyway, the tour should be called "PLaying Dave's Ass" b/c the whole show is focused on it! PS My review is on my blog (for Dec 10 post) xolondon.blogspot.com/
