Has this been getting coverage in the UK? Neil has become the latest artist to do a career revival album for the hip kids, like the Loretta Lynn and Nancy Sinatra albums last year. It is produced by Rick Rubin and getting the predictable acclaim. Rolling Stone gave it four stars, etc. I'm surprised NME and The Guardian haven't spunked over it yet. The album, mostly acoustic, is very dark. It will sell quite well in the north of Norway this winter.

I got this today. I hadn't seen it reviewed before reading this thead. It's a cracker all right, a late entry into my top ten albums of the year. One for late nights and the 'long drive home'.

The first time I listened to it I got bored very quickly (Oh Mary, the first track, is deffo the worst on it), but it's actually very good. It's all very tenth cigarette of the day with whisky, innit? Resonates very well at this time of the morning.
