www.oikotimes.com/site/index.php?id=5222Personally I doubt it, but you never know. Great song, but there are better ones, and apparently rehearsals have been poor. Pushing it on the "experts" front though. Jan Leeming? Zdob Si Zdub?!

It looks like they searched really hard to find their panel. Nicki French? Nicki Fucking French? Poor dear was probably on day release from the home and hadn't had her meds...

I think most of the British eurovision fans like Je T'adore but I guess it depends on all the other countries and political voting etc. I really don't have a clue who will win, there's so many different styles of music this year, I think maybe a quarter of the entries could be the winner.

I hope not. Last time Belgium won it had to organize the show the following year and the public television service got so much into debt it only showed old B&W Polish shows for 3 years before being able to finance their own shows again. It was dark times.

It was dark times. Well, that must be Wallonia then. And it was a really long time ago. If we win, and the competition will be the property of Eén (the biggest tv station in Belgium) and our new minister of media, who likes to spend money, the show will be, well, quite good. I can't see Kate winning, to be honest.

Of course it was. I remember BRT refused to finance the 1987 show, even though it was their year for sending a candidate, arguing that as RTBF had won it, it might as well bear the financial consequences of its success. I doubt RTBF has forgotten this, so if Kate wins on Saturday, VRT will have to organize the show all on its own next year. And I don't doubt they will spend shitloads of money for it (but let's not enter into a difficult internal Belgian political debate here).
PS : I might have exaggerated for comedy value the dire financial situation of the French-speaking TV service after Sandra Kim's victory... but not that much (understand it wasn't all Polish B&W shows, just a lay-off of some collaborators and a firm decision that no French-speaking Belgians should ever win again).
(PS : Een, bigger than VTM... really?)

Really, if Latvia, Ukraine, and Estonia can afford to stage the show, Belgium can.

(PS : Een, bigger than VTM... really?) Yes, yes. It has the highest ratings, critical aclaim and to be honest, the shows Een produces are cheaper than the ones of VTM but are a thousand times better. It's Flemish tv at its best. But oh well, maybe the year after next year !
