I just don't get it. Why was she boo'ed? She didn't derseve that! And how did she not get through? that has to be one of the best performances of the night- by far!!!
Europe has no sense of humour - therefore they find f*ckin lithuania funny?! Where is the sense in that!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

She made a comment about Greeks. And you know what Greeks are like.

Most of the people in the audience were probably Eurovision fanatics and they appear to be hugely patriotic in who they want to win, so Silvia and Lithuania both claiming that will win/ have won would not go down well.
Plus Silvia pissed off all the staff all (check YouTube and watch her hilarious rehearsals) and pissed off journalists by having one ejected from a press conference for looking at her (though this was almost certainly a set-up). Europe didn't get the joke. And it's a shame, because by singing, "I'll frickin' win" it became clear that Silvia did want to do well. And after the polished performances from Sweden and Estonia hers did come across like a hypermanic child in a toyshop. While I love her for it I can see why it didn't have mass appeal.

I think it'd be nice if the woman behind Silvia gave a press conference as herself, because that booing was severely out of order. She apologised at the press conference for calling the technicians "fucking amateurs" and swearing, blaming it on stress, but it's part of her character to believe she's better than everyone else. I did think her performance was a bit too OTT, compared to the rehearsal clips I'd seen - I thought all the adlibbing was a bit too much. Did Lithuania get booed? I know Silvia got booed throughout the song, and at the beginning and end, but I didn't hear any for Lithuania (and they got through! ).

The worst thing is that Silvia is actually a really good singer, but her performance wasn't about that so much. I think you're right, the ad-libs were too much and the stage show was too disorganised.
But she's still the best character in the whole thing this year. Better than Lordi "oh look, we're wearing masks".

I ain't watching the final. A final without Kate and Silvia is no final. There is nothing worth watching the final for.

Oh SHUT UP.
There's lots.
You can't be much of a Eurovision fan if you boil it all down to 2 acts.

The voting is strange. Paddy O'Connell said in the UK that you could only vote once. Whereas the EBU said 20 calls from one number. Maybe that means for 20 individual countries?
It's all centrally monitored and compiled by digame, isn't it? So presumably there can't be one rule for one country and another for another.

we got text messages saying thanks for your vote every time we voted.. maybe they were just taking our money and not taking our votes.. Its all making sense now as to why Slovenia didn't get through!!!

Now I've been trying to find what I read yesterday, but eurovision.tv have been updating data and it seems to be gone.
I read that you could vote up to 20 times for the same song from the same phone. I have been searching for the full rules to this year's contest and cannot find them. But nothing I have come across (including last year's full rules) mentions a cap on the number of votes that can be made for an indivudual song from an individual phone.
They really should have the full rules on eurovision.tv but that websites is organised terribly. Or perhaps I just haven't had enough sleep over the last couple of days...

The Guardian have published an article on Silvia today; it makes me even more sad that she won't be on the final. "Finally, those of us who weep at the notion that Rachel Stevens can be passed off as a pop "personality" have found salvation." arts.guardian.co.uk/features/story/0,,1778091,00.html

'cept, she's not in it tomorrow night.
I'll allow this mistake though as they would have written it pre-semi.

Wow, the Guardian, amazing stuff. Of course, they've kind of missed the fact that she didn't make it through the semi-final.

From watching the performance and hearing the song for the first time last night, I wasn't overly impressed. I was about 70% drawn in. I have to say though, her hair was the SEX.
After hearing the studio version of the song, I'm actually in love with it. Shame she didn't get through.

This is Eurovision.TV's evaluation of the reaction Silvia got from the crowd
Finally, Iceland’s self-styled megastar Silvia Night brings us firmly back to the world of pop. This is kitsch with a capital ‘K’, with Silvia dancing round enormous candy canes and sliding down a giant stiletto. Even crazier than her country-mate Björk, Silvia sports a huge feathered headpiece and dances like a broken doll before stripping off to reveal a very daring costume. Utterly bonkers and highly entertaining. The crowd love it.
What are they on. The crowd booed throughout. Did they ignore the boo's. She got a horrible reception.

What next for Slivia:
Storm the stage during the final?
or they should get her to co-host with Terry in the BBC box, so we can hear all her comments about the rest of the acts.
BBC - Get on it now. - Make it happen.

Did they ignore the boo's. She got a horrible reception. They have to be positive I guess. I hope Iceland changes the person who comes up with their staging because that's two years in a row that it's ruined things for them. Silvia's performance should have been a big "look at me, I'm a superstar" effort to fit her character, rather than a comedy routine that half of Europe wasn't going to get. But then it's easy to say that in retrospect. And to be honest I did enjoy the goose-stepping in the second chorus. Oops, there go the German votes as well...
