So, now we know who's in the final - who do you want to win? and what are your predictions on what will happen?
For me, what I'd like to see:
12 Germany 10 Spain 8 Sweden 7 Romania 6 UK 5 Ukraine 4 Finland 3 Norway 2 Bosnia 1 Turkey
and what I think will happen
12 Sweden 10 Bosnia 8 Germany 7 Romania 6 Greece 5 Finland 4 UK 3 Russia 2 Ukraine 1 Ireland

Spain? Really?
Germany to win for me. In a close run battle with Bosnia, Finland and Sweden.
Anna Vissi to implode (fabulously).

I don't think the one I want to win has EVER won (apart from Helena last year) so I doubt Carola will win... it would be amazing if she did though. Proof that a solid, western song sung by a pro can still win it.

Yeah, and the BF loves it too. And I hated it on first listen. It just has quite a cool 80s vibe going on. And the lead into the chorus going "dooty free, dooty free, dooty freeeeeeee" is fabulous. And the chrous itsself - 'un bloody mary por favor' - how camp is that? And the key change in the middle 8. And the ridiculous video. Its fabulousness has just crept up on my slowly. I fully expect it to do disastrously though, as its charms are certainly not immediately apparent. I don't want to jinx Germany by forecasting it to win. It's one of my favourite Eurovision songs ever, I'll be very upset if it doesn't do well. I was kind of hoping she'll explode. Literally. With Lordi's leftover pyrotechnics. Wouldn't that be spectacular?

Usually I have a favourite for what's in the final but none of them really stand out for me. I'd like to think Carola will do it but I was kind of disappointed with her performance in the semi final - she looked quite scary. I think Germany might do it but I don't have a favourite anymore.

Mow I'm hoping that Ukraine will win. Song is great and Tina has beautiful and strong voice. They're also our neighbours.

You've chosen them twice and they are certainly rather different to your average Eurovision act (which is a good thing - variety is always good) - why are they so popular? And what on earth was the guy with the green hair wearing last night? It looked like my granny's sofa

What on earth where they all wearing? It looked like the Palace of Versailles had vomited on them after eating ancient Greek motifs.

Ukraine is my new favourite, because she looks like Shakira, followed by Germany. I don't mind Anna Vissi, but I much prefered Annet's track over hers, and she didn't make it through the semi.

Anna was given 3 good songs to choose from... then picked the fourth one, which was shit. Did you notice one of the other greek selection songs was used in the intro too? I don't think it had Anna's vocals, but they're obviously trying to get as much of her in as possible!

I'm rather fond of the Ukraine song. It's been said before, but it reminded me of Shakira. Nice tambourine break down too.

My top 10 in alphabetical order are: Bosnia & Herzegovina Croatia Finland FYR Macedonia Germany Malta Norway Romania Sweden Ukraine
I would have put Russia up there because I like the song but Dima's performance put me off a little...he's a little out of control. Of course with my bad track record only five of these songs will be in the actual top 10.

I'm rather fond of the Ukraine song. It's been said before, but it reminded me of Shakira. Nice tambourine break down too. Notice how she's always centre stage. Those dancers never get in her way. They create energy behind her but never overshadow. She even out-does them in the skipping bit with her kiss and thumbs up to camera. BRILLIANT. The bang bang bang stomping on the last chorus is amazing too. I want this to win. A

First of all we (people of Poland) are really ashamed that we send this group to Eurovision and you were forced to watch this freak show BUT it's all fault of teenagers with mobile phones from villages because they voted for them. They popular because of tabloid press. The guy with green hair is now divorced with his second wife (the first wife is that black haired singer who was in Athens) who is also a singer in Jordan kind of way.And as for that clothes ....we didn't figure it out yet what the hell was that. We're really really sorry.

I think he's brilliant in a really-shit-does-he-want-to-be-a-manga-character-or-something kind of way. I'm surprised that nobody brought plagarism charges against rapper the Real McCoy for ripping off Gasolina though.

I'm surprised that nobody brought plagarism charges against rapper the Real McCoy for ripping off Gasolina though. I too noticed the similarities, but I don't think it's plagarism since none of the same lyrics are used except for the word "gasolina". At least it's not another song from the Polish preselection, "How Many People", which for some reason rips off "My Humps".

My ideal top 5 would include
Sweden Germany Malta FYRoM Turkey
Which means these will all fail miserably. I would have Ukraine as 6 and Denmark as 7.

Through a scientific unscientific method (using a voting simulator a couple times, taking the average points and places, and creating 95% confidence intervals with my high school level statistics knowlege) I have determined that Sweden will win by at least 3 points. Ireland will come in 7th - 17th, and the UK will come in 13th - 22nd. I'm probably wrong, though.

I said this on another thread, but my mum is a demon at predicting winners. I hope her lucky streak has finally run out, but I do think that Finland are in with a cracking chance, for the simple reason that pop is affected by regional nuances ( an argument that has been explored in the forum many times) and yet 'rawk' (cue obligitory devil hand sign and headbanging) seems to be a little more 'international' in it's appeal. I might be shot down in flames for suggesting that, but when I (occasionally) look at the charts of other countries, the only songs I tend to notice coming up again and again are the more rock orientated ones, and the fact that Lordi are 'rawk' might bring the voters out in droves, as we know very well that most 'rawk' fans (especially the delightfully homophobic/BNP supporting family of Queen fans that live in my street) would vote for it to show all us pop princes and princesses what 'real' music is.
Thats my theory, anyway. Lets hope I am proved wrong in a most spectacular way.

I got the places of 15 other countries right too (unfortunately including Malta).
