Always wondered, and been slightly baffled, as to what are the chart eligibility rules. 20 mins and 3 tracks rings a bell. Is this right? And does that mean, in the case of Madonna's "Sorry", for example, that the Maxi single is not eligible for the chart at 5 tracks and over 30 mins?

No, the rules have changed recently. About a year ago anyway. You can have a 2 track single which should sell for about £1.99 and must include either a remix or another song, and also a "maxi" single, for about £3.99 which can be either just remixes or just songs (I think). Not sure about the length limit though, although this is the system they've used in Europe for years (a 2-track single and a maxi single, it's like the old days of 7" and 12").
