Does anyone have a discography for Alexander Bard & Marina Schiptjenko's pre-BWO group Vacuum?
I have the Icaros maxi-CD (with sweet Pinocchio remix) and the Culture of Night CD, but I know there must be others.
Thanks...

I think their first LP The Plutonium Cathedral is the best one. So many great tracks on there. Especially 'Pride In My Religion'.

Thanks, you two. I had no idea they were still going (sans Marina), and that Anders Wollbeck was involved. Interesting.

im a massive fan of alexander bards work. i started with army of lovers, years later i loved alcazar and now my fave pop band is BWO. but in between i know he did vacuum, and the only songs i heard from them werent up to his standard at all, and not very poppy at all. if someone can tell me 5 of the greatest vacuum songs, i would give them a try and see if i feel any differently?!?

Most of Vacuum's songs are growers. Give them a few listens and you'll find the melodic touch of Bard in them.
1) Pride In My Religion (pop perfection, and one of the poppiest Vacuum-songs) 2) I Breathe (simply sublime) 3) The Void/They Do It (can't decide - both electro masterpieces) 4) Closer Than The Holy Ghost (beautiful mid-tempo) 5) Atlas Shrugged (where you can hear Marina sing, like sing SING).

Most of Vacuum's songs are growers. I think the whole Vacuum sound in general (especially the earlier stuff) is something that takes a bit of time to become accustomed to because it draws from an more operatic spectrum to create it's pop. Mattias's voice alone isn't your typical pop voice and that took time for me to get used to but now I love it. I agree The Plutonium Cathedral is the best album and is in my opinion, along with "Gods of Earth and Heaven" Alexander's most accomplished album. And spot on "Pride In My Religion" is perfection. It's a shame they went through so much shit with their second album. Despite being an unseen element Anders has always been credited as a member. Infact the first Vacuum productions (when it just consisted of Alexander and Anders) appeared on the "Glory, Glamour and Gold" album, "Lit De Parade" was one of these songs. On a side note, regarding BWO, as much as I like them I've always found them to be lacking something when compared to Alexanders previous projects and I can't help thinking that something is Mr Wollbeck.

"i breathe" is one of the only ones i did like so far actually... i guess vacuum arent really poppy then it seems.

I heard the new single on the radio the other day. Wasn't too impressed. Might be a grower though.
