I was browsing the cheap CD sale in Virgin the other day which included Fast Food Rockers and other rubbish they can't shift. Anyway I came across the I Dream album. I was just wondering...is the guy sitting right at the front of the CD cover now in Eastenders playing Deano. Sorry if I am slow but I had never heard or seen anything from I Dream.

Did he sing on it or was he just part of that show they had? Its all very confusing.
Is the album any good?

Well, what happened was that the people behind S Club 8 got tired of them releasing incredible dance-pop songs like New Direction and Sundown and having fair-to-good chart success and decided that the best plan would be to tear the group into component parts, make a TV show with lots of extra kids in and get them to sing as well, put the show on at like 6 am so that no-one watched it and release terrible terrible music from it. Unsurprisingly, chart success did not beckon. Other than Rochelle presenting Smile and Deano-boy in 'stenders, I expect the poor loves are back stacking shelves.

Deano sings a rather turgid track on the radio called "Goodbye Radio". It's dull and guitary from what I call.
He's be a port in a storm though after a few beverages.

...saying that the I Dream album does have a couple of choice gems - in a shit sort of way of course.
Don't Steal Our Sunshine, which on the show I seem to recall was meant as a sort of protest song - possibly dealing with endangered frogs?. Anyway, it's Frankie and Calvin - none of this pish new non-juniors stuff as pretty much the rest of the album and of course Dreaming (all around the world now, all around the world now).
Don't buy it unless it's in the bargain bin though, it's certainly not even in the league of say The Fast Food Rockers. Bastardisation of some real potential, the third Junior album is one of these never produced albums that would've changed the world.

There are two songs on that album I quite like, regardless of if they are sung by original SC8 members or not. Back Off is one of them. The other one is even better but I can't remember its title. It's sung by the blonde girl and it's about the joy of being su perficial and in constant need of attention. It sounds like the best song Emma B should have released. So, while it's not as good as either SC8 albums, it's not a complete waste of money (especially now, when you can find it for a couple of pounds in most second-hand record stores)

"Dreaming" was a great pop single although Calvin Goldspunk's vocals were rather flat.
What's the latest on his solo career?

Yep. That's the one. I've just listened to it again to see if I really could admit to liking it, but yes. It truly is a great song, and she sings it perfectly. All in all, there are three good songs on the album. Not enough by any means to make it a 'good' album but still, it's not completely worthless either.

Waste Your Time On Me' is a great little pop song that's totally wasted on this dull album full of mediocre pop and middlish vocals (and no Daisy or Hannah of the 8).
'Back Off' is good too.

Surely to be in a second hand shop somebody would have had to actually buy it in the first place?

That's a valid point... But the beginning of this thread clearly indicates that some copies at least have made it to bargain basements (if that's the right term).

Having thought about it I just remembered I got my copy in a charity shop. Although it was a promo CD that a DJ or reviwer had given to the shop. I wonder how many copies it sold overall. Anyone know?

I'd die to be in the UK and scavenging through these bins, I'd pick up the FFR album in an instant!
