Hello all,
This is slightly tragic.
Being a loner and unfortunately, incredibly realistic I'm going to see Girls Aloud at the NIA on May 26th on my own. Obviously, as far as the show goes, this doesn't bother me, as all I need is the music. And realistically, I can handle the whole walking to the train station alone thing as I've done it before I'm a street-wise Hercules.
But.
I might get a bit lonely directly before and after the show.
So I was wondering if any of you lived in Birmingham and were going to Girls Aloud and fancied going for a drink before/afterwards (maybe a jaunt down Broad Street?) and maybe fancied throwing a somewhat impromptu PJ Meet Up?
It's just an idea. I can understand why the opportunity to meet Greg (a.k.a. Pop Boy) live and in the flesh is anything but tempting, but hey, it's an idea, and could be the start of something special*.
So yes, I'm not expecting my PM box to be off the hook, but if you fancy it, do PM me.
*I'm not a rent boy or owt.**
**Though, in fairness I've never had a good enough offer.***
***Yet.

The last part of your post made me laugh. I'm not going to see the Girls This year...unfortunately. But it's my own fault, I shouldn't have spent all my savings on the Kelly Clarkson tickets last year. I paid for my 7 friends to come too. Oh, and Broad Street is boring lately.

Oh, also, this might help clinch it or totally unclinch it, but it's Birmingham Pride weekend that weekend so Broad Street shouldn't be so boring.

Well Birmingham Pride is taking place at Cannonhill Park in the daytime, and obviously down Hurst Street in the evening. But that's the day after "The Show". I avoid Pride every year anyway now haha. Turns out I am going to see the girls after all. My friend gave me a spare ticket. Wahoo !!!

If Girls Aloud are in town that weekend I demand they play at the Party In The Park thing for Pride. Alongside Peter Andre. And the Cheeky Girls.

Hmmm could Pride afford them? I doubt it. I think they have more important things to do, like get to the next venue etc.

If you have been there to see all of those I fear you must have seen me drunkenly staggering around.

I shall probably end up in DV8, isn't it BOGOF ? I am not sure. Or The Nightingale. Hmmm, so much choice.

Buy One Get One Free? I don't know. There's a lot more choice than just those two though. DV8 is quite good but Nightingale is a dive in my opinion. It looks like a school disco or something. I agree that Broad St. is boring lately though, and far too expensive for what you get. I had to pay to get into this nasty bar the other week, with about five people inside and dancefloor the size of a Twister mat. The Works is always a good night if it's nice and rammed.

Can we decide on somewhere to meet up if we're going to please? Or else Wolverhampton beckons for me.
I'll be honest, the response has been less than overwhelming thus far but I still think it'd be nice to go out and have an unofficial Girls Aloud aftershow party thing (though it is unlikely the guests of honour will turn up).
[ALSO: Do we want to get rammed in The Works? That sounds painful!]

And it's a Friday so some places may be busy but other places could be quiet, due to Pride. I am guessing places will be busy though as it's a Bank Holiday.

You're right, Friday nights can be boringly quiet in certain places, but I hardly ever go out Fridays because I'm at work. So if anyone knows where to go that would be great. Also, I'm not a great organiser, more of a follower, not that I'm lazy of course. I just tend to go with the flow.

I am also more of a follower when it comes to night's out. I couldn't organise a piss up in a Brewery. Unless it was just me in attendance of course hehe. I am easy to please on night's out.
