Who agrees with me (as if you wouldn't) that Kylie's two self titled albums from her DeConstruction (indie Kylie) period are her two best...nay...two of the best pop albums I've ever heard. From the sinister Confide In Me to the sublime Put Yourself In My Place (my fave Kylie song) as well as the less known Gotta Move On and This Girl.
It is a little crushing to listen to her other records and realise she'll never do songs that darned cool again.
When Dannii comes up with songs that brilliant then I may take her a little seriously.
NOTE: Miss Kittin 'Stripper' has just come on my internet radio station followed by Billy Idol and FannyPack. Cool!

I'm going to disagree. The two albums certainly have their moments, but there's enough on each to make the skip button necessary. The '94 album had the awesome Confide In Me, but there were a couple of fillers there - dangerous on a 10-track album. Plus there's a ballad (Dangerous Game) on it. Ballads are not her strong point.
I thought the Impossible Princess album tried a lot stylistically but as is often the case with such albums, the results were hit and miss. I don't know why Cowboy Style was never a single over here - it should have been. Also Too Far, Dreams and the 3 singles were good, but I didn't like much beyond that. I actually thought two of the songs from that era which aren't on the album (Love Takes Over Me and Take Me With You) were superior to most of what was actually there.

'Confide in Me' was, in effect, the catalyst for the Sugababes.

Kylie's two DeConstruction albums are still on my "to get" list (although I do have that Hits+ cash-in thing), so I can't really comment on the albums themselves, but her singles around that era were corkers.
If 'Slow' had been even half as good as 'Did It Again' or 'Put Yourself In My Place', there wouldn't currently be a conspicuous hole in my collection where Body Language ought to be.

I agree with Pandarama.
I also have to add that those two Kylie albums are her most complete sounding, she took a chance and moved away from Pete Waterman, so she had the guts to do that at least even if it wasn't reflected in the sales. The Hits + is a good wee album if only for Put Yourself In My Place...
