I heard a few weeks ago a song by a Swedish (I think) band called Le Sport. The song was called Your Brother Is My Only Hope and is quite amazing in a indie-electro-popyy kinda way. I was wondering what you thought of it or if some of you had any advice on which songs from them I shoud check out.

Le Sport are one of my favourite groups right now! Utterly amazing. I did a 'thing' on them a few weeks ago on my blog (see signature for url) - January 22nd to be exact, if you wanna check it out - and the songs I mention there are the ones I recommend. 'Eurosport Music Baby' is about wanting to have sex with men, and 'Tell No One About Tonight' is simply pure pop brilliance. 'Your Brother Is My Only Hope' is my favourite by them though, being one of my favourite songs from last year. Other good songs by them are 'Sporty Boy' (duet with ace girl-duo Cat5), 'Business Girls', 'I Comes Before U' and 'Euroheart'. You can get most of them from their website. They have a full-length album coming out here in Sweden soon, and apparently it's 90's influed and VERY poppy. I'm sure it'll be my favourite album of the year so far once it's released.

Thanks for that. I was pretty sure I had discovered them on your blog (where else?) but couldn't find the post back. I gather from what you said there is no record to buy yet so I'll just have to wait. For those interested, the URL of their website is www.lesportmusic.tk/

You could see this as a rather desperate try to keep this topic alive, but the tracklist for the album has been announced:
1. I do renounce them 2. It's not the end of the world 3. Chemical drugs 4. Your brother is my only hope 5. Show me your penis 6. If Neil Tennant was my lover 7. Think of you 8. Every lovesong 9. Tell no one about tonight 10. Lovetrain Bonus: Business Girls & I Comes Before U
Number six might be one of the greatest song titles of all time. You can also download the new single 'It's Not The End Of The World' on their website (which by the way has had a makeover).

Not really loving the new single "It's not the end of the world," which sounds like a New Order cover band gone wrong.
The singer is supercute, however.

'Tell No One About Tonight' is a tune!
I agree that 'Show me your penis' and 'If Neil Tennant was my lover' might just be two of the greatest song titles ever.
I'm intrigued!

I too am in love with them- I heard "Tell No One About Tonight" recently and went on to get hold of "Business Girls", "Your Brother is my only hope" and "Eurosport Music Baby". I can't wait for the album. I shall order immediately from Skivhugget.
PopKnark, I love your blog too! I was very pleased to see DubSweden on there, and the Knife!

I just discovered the band - excellent stuff! I suggest you also check out the fantastic synthpop-duo Regina. They are from Finland and their debut album 'Katso maisemaa' was probably my favourite last year. The songs are all in finnish so most likely you won't understand a word. You can download the song 'Katso maisemaa' (and also songs from Le Sport) here - for free! (Click on 'releases'.) So why not cheer up your mp3-player? More Regina on myspace www.myspace.com/reginaxxx

Any opinions on the Le Sport album then? It is shiny and glitzy and great although there's not enough of it! I want more.
