She is rather phenominal.
'Goodnight and Go' is the next single and its out in May... photos from the video shoot are on her website.
This is quite the little slice of great pop. Thoughts?
Also, her album made the top 150 albums in the US... that's neat.

A friend of mine who is a DJ here in Toronto interviewed her a couple of weeks ago.
That's all.

Imogen is class. I totally think she's a genius. Future singles must be Daylight Robbery, The Walk or Clear the Area.
Now that her and Alexis are buddies they should tour, and bring Nerina Pallot along for the ride.

She's wonderful in Frou Frou. Let Go and their cover of Holding Out For a Hero are class

Loose Ends should have been the next single!
Still, there's not a bad track on the album. It's amazing.

She's amazing! I love 'Goodnight & Go', and 'Hide And Seek' was one of my favourite songs from last year. I wasn't too impressed by the album though... but maybe I should give it another listen?

It's a scientific fact her voice and/or the way she uses it starts to grate terribly after listening to 3.4 of her songs.

She is an absolute genius - "Headlock" is currently being used in a Cadbury's easter egg commercial (well, 9 seconds of the intro music anyway - she was asked to edit it for them),
She's also signed to Sony BMG, under a new division there (White Rabbit), in order that "Speak For Yourself" can receive the promotional treatment it deserves. The "Goodnight & Go" video sounds like it will be amazing, and looks stunning from the photos - Ryan Obemeyer, who is a brilliant photographer, is designing the cover artwork.
As for touring with Alexis and Nerina Pallot, if we add Kate Havnevik, we could have a modern-day European Lilith Fair!

I hope she starts promoting in the states too... They'd love her because of Garden State and EVERY TV SHOW EVER using Frou Frou songs in the past year.

She did "David Letterman" and appeared twice on "Carson Daley" back in late Jan-early Feb, and completed a US tour. She was already on Sony BMG there, as part of RCA Victor; the White Rabbit deal extends the Sony BMG coverage to everywhere else apart from the USA, Canada and Mexico.
I can listen to her latest album or the Frou Frou album on repeat and not get tired or annoyed by her voice. I think it's heavenly! Her first album is a bit of an acquired taste though; you definitely have to be in a specific mood to listen to it.

If you're in the USA/Canada, promo CDs of "Hide & Seek" were sent out, featuring the radio edit, but that's about it. Here in the UK, "Hide & Seek" was commercially released on a limited edition clear 7" vinyl, featuring the atmospheric instrumental, "Cumulus." "Goodnight & Go" will be the second single (I think the first in Europe and other territories!), released in a new radio edit form (and featuring another brand new B-Side, this time with vocals) - the video has a very quirky treatment!!

yeay an Imogen Heap thread!
Loving this lady at the minute! And actually going to see her at shepherds bush in....oooh 2 weeks exactly! yippee!!!
I think she's phenomenal, i just don't think the general public are gifted enough musically to understand the immense genius of her material.
Having said that, they use her songs in SO many things. Cadbury's Ad, Shrek2, Garden State, Just Like Heaven, Narnia, Meantime, The OC, 6 Feet under .....i could go on, but my fingers are getting tired.
i'd love her to gain the attention she deserves, almost just so it can be another artist i liked before they were massive.
GO IMMI!

I quite like Imogen Heap. I enjoyed reviewing Goodnight and Go for work, which is more like than usual for work reviews, and my friend played me something she sung in...I think, 12-part harmony? I have no idea what it was but it impressed me!

Quite exciting news update for Immi fans - White Rabbit (Sony BMG) are re-promoting "Speak For Yourself" with a re-release on 10th April, and "Goodnight & Go" will be released on 8th May - the cover is here: "Speeding Cars" will be the B-side accompanying Immi's radio mix of "Goodnight & Go" and there will be a live download available as well!

I had never seen Imogen before last night - now I'm totally hooked! What a voice, what songs, what humour - reminded me of a dappy Emma Thompson. I have to get everything she's ever done now - it's wonderful. She is incredibly tall aswell as I found out afterwards upon introducing myself to her!
love the new video too

The single cover isn't 100% confirmed - James (her webmaster) said that there were a set of photos that were going to be used in a special "moving effect" cover, but the UK chart rules would have made it ineligible, so they are going to pick just one. I love that there is a "white rabbit" on the cover to signify the first release on the label! Here is another of the images (thanks to unidan from iBabble!):

Why would a lenticular cover be against chart rules? Do they honestly think people would buy a single just to watch Immi Heap climb an escalator?
No wonder the industry's in the shitter.
The font used in the first cover is oh-so-very-Björk.

The font used in the first cover is oh-so-very-Björk. The UK chart rules are very strict with regards to "incentives" and apparently, because the cover would move and be all fancy, this would be an "incentive" to buy the single. The artwork has been done by Ryan Obemeyer, presumably the font included, but don't quote me!

This "Immi's radio mix" of "goodnight and go" ... heard it... not so much.
Anybody know why they didn't decide to go with the LP version?
