Well she's been signed to phonogenic and her album is coming out in spetember with a single in June. You can har one of the tracks from her album called 'Woman's Intuition' on her official myspace www.myspace.com/marialawson and there's more news on it on her fansite www.mariafans.co.uk I can't wait for this! she had an amazing voice and was so fit with the best british tits of the year! Dianne Warren also write one of the songs on the album as well as people who have worked with the likes of Natasha Bedingfield and Christina Aguilera! Hope it sells well!!

Does anyone know if Black Mona Lisa is a cover of the Lamya song? If so - good on you Maria!
She may yet be the first remotely decent popstar to come out of the unwatchable shitshow that is the X Factor.

I loved her on the show, but the she seemed a bit....erm....anodyne and dull if the PJ interview is anything to go by.

Good choice the Lamya song - Lamya's album is a diamond, reallt. Pink Moon? I Get Cravings? Must dig it out.
It is a bit like Nina Jayne covering Res' They Say Vision. Anyone loved Res? Actually I was loving the Res and Lamya albums at the same period back in, ohh was it 2003?

Lamya's 'Never's Such A Long Time' makes me cry every time.
It's a pretty interesting indication of the route Maria's album is going - a cover of an obscure British (erm, don't know what genre to call Lamya) track isn't exactly what you'd expect on a Chico album. Could she *gasp* do well critically AND popularly?
