Cher is releasing her 42nd studio album this fall, (fingers crossed) it's gonna contain the unreleased track "human" from Stuck on You. It's gonna be a rock album, produced by her prev hit maker Jon Kalodner. Before you think she's abandoning the gays(and other disco fans), the cd will come with a bonus disc of dance versions of album tracks and remixed old hits. She makes great dance music!!! never trying to prove anything, just being her....

She never said she was "retiring" NEVER SAID THAT. All she did was quit TOURING not performing, or singing, or acting. She is the original popstar, and originals never retire.

she said she's never going to stop.. just didnt want to do anymore "world tours"
Good to hear she is doing some more rock stuff.. as even though i love her dance side, be nice to have a change back to the old formula

This album is a win/win for fans - I love windswept soft rock Cher as much as I love glittery disco Cher!
I'm still waiting for the inevitable "I'm Still Here" tour in a couple of years. The Farewell Tour was the best live concert I've ever seen - a costume (and wig) change for every ruddy song!
God bless you ma'am!

i love the living proof album, and have to admit, i do prefer disco ''camp as christmas'' cher to rock cher, but i reckon it will be amazing album. i didnt realise it was album 42, i only have about 3 of them.

I'll be glad if 'Human' does get an official release as it's a great track. Her albums are never very consistent, so it would be nice she could manage one that was a decent album from start to finish.

George Washington retired, and he was the original president of the USA!
Umm, i like her rockier albums so I'll keep an open mind on this one, anyways last time she retired wasn't ot the 2nd farewell tour? 41 albums already, good lord the woman has stamina!

Cher hasn't actually released 41 albums, I think. Around 25-30 though, if you count in the albums with Sonny.

I'm probably the biggest Cher fan, and tho it seems like a lot of albums but that's how many studio albums she's recorded, including stuff with sonny, Allman and Cher, Black Rose, Not.comercial etc. etc. But not including all the collections there are, and including records not yet available on cd.

I hope Cher makes another album like that, she's a great songwriter for that type of music, i wish she wrote more of her stuff, but at least i know she can.

I love how when her identity is 'revealed' she takes less than 5 seconds to start using the word 'fabulous'. I do cherish Human, and I would think we will be getting a new(er) version.
The It's A Man's World album was a lot more than just a straight 'rock' album, so I'm hoping that will be the case this time as well. Much of her late 80's and Love Hurts material sounds bare and flat in comparison with IAMW's layers, texture and overall instrumentation.
Where is the source for this information?

Cherworld.com has been reporting on Cher's new album throughout the past year. Cher has mentioned it in interviews as well as John Kalodner(actually wanted to do album before asked!) and Junior Vasquez is doing the remixes of the new tracks and for the old hits remixed. Originally it was gonna be just one dance cd, but now it'll be a 2 disc set. we deserve it, it's been almost 4 yrs.

This is doubly exciting news! However, I seriously hope Junior Vasquez isn't doing *all* of the remixing. He is seriously overrated, and annoying.

This is doubly exciting news! However, I seriously hope Junior Vasquez isn't doing *all* of the remixing. He is seriously overrated, and annoying. He used to be consistently fabulous: Billie Ray Martin ( Systems of Silence); Madge ( Like A Prayer); Cher ( One By One); and Ab Fab ( I Am Thin & Gorgeous). Martin no longer uses him, apparantly since his management have became 'difficult to deal with'. The Jr. Vasquez info has been around for ages - there was a pic of him in the studio and 1 of Cher's old LP's in the background. I guess the 2CD package is a really great way to di it.
