A few tracks from Paris's upcoming 'record' have leaked around the tinterweb and to be honest she should keep the breathy whimpers to those night-vision flicks she's famous for. 'Turn It Up' apparantly the lead single sounds like a rejected demo of Jessica Simpson's 'fired up' and 'Fightin over me' is wannabe white hip-hop piss dribble to the maximum. Despite all this I'm still in love with the clip of 'jealousy' and the fact that this girl is so confident in her 'voice'. The very voice which makes miss Duff sound like Mariah in her perm days.

I heard a few of them, and whilst she is not the best singer, the songs were all quite catchy!

Wow. That Jealousy song IS quite good - and the fact that it is Paris Hilton singing it doesn't entirely ruin it for me!
Oh no. I think it's about Nicole Ritchie. That does kind of ruin it for me.

Um, this seriously could be the best pop record since "Chemistry."
Has anyone heard "I Want You" yet? It samples "Grease"! It is absolutely amazing. "Heartbeat" isn't bad either. I'm still waiting to hear the Rod cover.

found em, ooh I like the grease sample in 'I want you' and 'heartbeat' is ok in a cyndi lauper 'time after time' rehash kind of way. Can't beat 'Jealousy' though. Oh and she should have called her album 'autotune'.

Is she going to bother putting "Screwed" on the album? Surely we've waited long enough and had to put up with that shitty Alex G remix for long enough.

Yeah...supposedly it will be. I hope so. If it isn't, it will be the greatest lost pop track of all time! (sans "Rain")

I've just clicked on your link, andyandy, and that clip sound horrible. It might just be that I need to hear the whole song for it to be good but ... it's horrible.

She'll sell albums just because of who she is whether the music, or her voice, is good or not.

I weep for pop music sometimes when I read some of the comments here. I think it's hilarious that both Paris and The Faders who you really seem to hate both have been in Veronica Mars.. When is this suppossed to be released? EDIT: Jealousy sounds fantastic!

Is everyone deaf? Jealousy is truly awful, especially with her whiny little girl voice.
That being said Turn it up is quite tolerable in a so crap it's good Dirty/Fired up way. I like the turn it up turn it up turn it up bits. But I think the novelty will wear off. I want to hear the tracks Cathy Dennis supposedly gave her.

I'd love to set Paris on fire, just imagine all the melted plastic.
She was shit in Veronica Mars. She's shit at everything when Nicole Richie isn't there.

LIking the song doesn't mean we actually like Paris Hilton herself, Kirkland. Obviously she's quite repulsive. (But hey, it's not her fault the media have made her so famous).
The songs are ok, as they should be considering she's managed to get some fairly A-level producers on board. You always seem far too focussed on the person singing the song rather than the actual song itself.

I really can't see the appeal of the songs. They sound really, and I mean REALLY, poorly produced. And her voice is awful. Give me the monotonous nag of, let's say, Rachel any day.
It feels strange to say this, but I expected more.

Actually, nobody would give these songs the time of day if they weren't intrigued by the freak show that is Paris. I don't like her and I can't stand all these idiot gay friends of mine going on about 'how ironic' her music is because 'she is so crap and knows it' - God knows what that is meant to mean. I refuse to even buy into Paris Hilton as a concept - though my little brother probably likes to wank over her sex tape.

I'm really not sure how one buys into "Paris Hilton as a concept".
It's pointless hating Paris - hate the culture that makes someone like her famous.
In case you haven't realised, no one with half a brain actually likes her, so I hope you don't think you're being especially insightful because you 'see through her' or something.
I haven't even met anyone who appreciates her ironically. Though, maybe I'm just not friends with enough idiot gay people.

Her big mistake was to shop out for writers and producers when she probably could have quite easily gotten Kara to do her whole album and it would have been utterly stunning.
(i.e. "Jealousy" + "Screwed" + "Love Me For Me" + "Not Leaving Without You" + eight other DioGuardimazing songs = brillianto!)

I think you misunderstand the whole Paris Hilton concept and why she is so appreciated in certain circles. No matter how much you may despise her as a person, she is the ultimate celebrity, and probably alot smarter than she makes herself out to be. Paris is famous for... well, nothing in particular. That is what makes Paris such an amazing commodity. Through her fame she is turning her hand to everything, to make herself a star and a legend. Do you honestly believe that what you see on The Simple Life is the real Paris? You can compare Paris Hilton to the likes of Marilyn Monroe, and before you jump down my throat, hear me out. Marilyn was a created entity, she was not who she was naturally. It was a false name and false personality, all assumed to put her in the limelight. She launched herself as a sex symbol and was considered a 'slag' of her day. She was in the original Playboy! All reports say that Marilyn did not talk like that off camera, and was not as bubbly and ditzy as the roles she played. She was not a great actress (although after she became famous in the movies she trained herself to be better), and she wasn't a very strong singer. She just took on roles which reflected the character of Marilyn she had created. Really, Paris is not different. In her film roles, and in her music, it is all about the ditzy blonde sex symbol that is Paris. It's good branding. Personally, I hope Paris is successful in music. I don't really see how she can be any worse a singer than Britney or Jennifer Lopez. Alot of knob twiddeling must be going on in Paris' recording studios (pun intended). But you know, in the end, Paris' people will produce a perfectly crafted, pure pop product, because whilst not everything she does has integrity, it is always sensational and entertaining and lives up to the values of the Paris brand.

^Britney can sing, albeit not to a magnificent standard. But all you have to listen to is her SNL Everytime performance to realise if she had some intense vocal trai ning she would be a much better singer. As for Paris she couldn't even sing happy birthday properly to Hugh Hefner.
And seeing as the woman is made of money these songs should be a whole lot better than they are. At the end of the day this album will probably be a satisfactory success because of the sad state of the american youth who see her as some form of vacuous icon.

Marilyn was a poor girl who was made into a star by a studio.
Paris HIlton is a someone who got famous because our culture loves money and barbie women -and she's stupid, which is always a plus.
