I heard that they weren't happy with the R&B album she submitted, which featured "I'm Right Here," but then they made her record a pop album, featuring the track, "Woman." However, I heard she was unhappy, and consciously made a decision to take time out to focus on movies.
Her US record label, Interscope, didn't pick up the option for her second album; they released "I'm Right Here" as a single, featuring Damien Marley, and it flopped, and "I Don't Need You To Tell Me I'm Pretty" didn't do much either, so they pretty much regarded her as a one-hit-wonder. I'm pretty sure she's still signed to Polydor in the UK, though.

She was the best british artist at the end of the '90's touting her pop around.
Aha but she's not British.

An entire second album was recorded - I have all the tracks from it. It's about ten thousand times better then her 1st one, which was amazing.
I have no idea why they didn't release the album, it's pop loads of people missed out on.

Samantha Mumba was the best thing since sliced bread - so much potential and she just fizzled away. According to the Sunday Tribune last week: She is based in LA at the moment - recently opened a stage school called SamSara in Dublin with a mate , which she pops in to every now and again
- so if she's putting her eggs in different baskets I reckon that she's given up on the music.
