For anyone who has not seen, this year's V Festival will feature...
The Sugababes Girls Aloud Matt Willis Imogen Heap
and probably a few more by the August Bank Holiday too.
Beats the pants off last years Beverly Knight performance and Kelis in '04 me thinks. How excited am I?

Beverley Knight wasn't there last year... I went for the first time in 2005, and it was way better than this year...
Scissor Sisters, Natasha Bedingfield, KT Tunstall, Lucie Silvas, Joss Stone, Jem, Estelle, Kaiser Chiefs, Maroon 5, Franz Ferdinand, Goldfrapp etc.
Who have they got this year? Morrissey, Radiohead and Daniel Powter :S Oh dear...

Hum, must have been '04 too then. Last year was pretty good: Goldfrapp, Jem, Natasha Bedingfield were all strong. Scissor Sisters were better in '04 when they were new and cool and edgy. Last year, although they were good, it all seemed a little more scripted - but i guess that's what happens when you become a headline act.
I personally thought Estelle was a bit poor when she wasn't singing with Ms. Bedingfield, KT Tunstall was a bit dull, Kaiser Chiefs and Franz were as they always are.
But we still have a long way to go until more acts are announced. This year is deffo looking quite pop-centric. Admittedly the headliners aren't amazing, but scissor sisters aside, they never are. Maybe I'm just having an orgasm because it's Girls Aloud, Matt Willis AND Sugababes.

I saw Sugababes on tour and I'm going to Girls Aloud in a couple of weeks, so there's not much drawing me there this year.. Which is a shame, as last year it was sooo good. A lot of the roadshow-type things aren't happening this year, so they'll probably be a few more poppier acts on the V bill nearer the date..

Know the feeling. I enjoyed 2004 more than 2005 V wise, probably because I saw alot of the main acts performing in the weeks leading up to V. After T in the Park and Live 8 I couldn't take another Joss Stone performance...

Joss Stone was a bit dull to be honest, so I went to watch Jem who was on at the same time hehe.

Aye, and Jem was amazing. I had had her stuff since she sang that song on The OC, and it was the first time I had seen her perform live. She blew me away.

The problem with the V festival is that they have better acts than everyone else and yet at the same time worse. I don't know how they manage it. There are definitely more poppy acts than the other festivals, but it seems the less poppy ones are getting all the attention. Still, I'll probably watch it on TV as there is so little live music on TV these days. From the list on the site, the ones I'm looking forward to or hoping might just be shown on TV (but it's probably unlikely) are The Go! Team, Rufus Wainwright, The Cardigans, Sugababes, The Feeling, Gavin De Graw, Delays, Girls Aloud & Phoenix. Notice that the whole top 2 and a half lines in the list are complete rubbish, but almost all of the bottom 2 and a half are good.
