Is it wrong to get caught up in their sassy rapture?
Feel Your Love reminds me of a song from the film Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead.

Why should she be ashamed of them? It's not like they're any worse than the rest of her current catalogue...

She's understandably rather embarassed about them these days, but thanks to the magic of Youtube, here's her two biggest hits! On the contrary, she sometimes performs 'Too Hot' as part of her live set, and clips from her old videos were used in the video for - I think - '8 Easy Steps'. Cheerio, Michael. xxx

I totally remember when she came out with that stuff! And it was rather successful. She disappeared for a while and came out with JLP; Canadians at first were 'Whatever'. She had to work hard to prove herself here whereas everyone else just ate it all up.
'Never too hot, never too cold, take your best shot ... '.
I just noticed the MUCHMUSIC logo! That's the MUCHMUSIC Spot Light logo. Oh Christ those were the days ...

How did she get the world record for Best Selling Debut Album when it wasn't her first?

How did she get the world record for Best Selling Debut Album when it wasn't her first? Maybe she got around it by being Alanis before and Alanis Morissette after. Or maybe it was because the old stuff was Canada only? I certainly wondered, though.

I love her huge poodle hairdo.
I saw her perform 'Too Hot' in Toronto a couple years ago and it was great... people ate it up! I don't think she is ashamed at all, nor should she be.

Jagged Little Pill is considered her debut bc it was the first disc release internationally....just like shakira's first cd is considered to be "pies descalzos" (barefeet) bc her first two weren't released internationally, (and they were'nt really HER).

It's like Janet, Pebbles, Paula Abdul, Vanilla Ice, Marky Mark and C&C Music Factory had an orgy and out came Alanis! Especially in Walk Away she is Paula Abdul in Cathy Dennis's body!
These are MUCH better than I expected them to be, too! Her vocals were powerful and expressional even then. Did she write that stuff too? It's good stuff!
Go old Alanis!

I now have both albums and while Alanis is really pop, with a C&C edge, the second one is really close to Jagged Little Pill, moody and more serious. When Jagged Little Pill came out the press made it out like she went from Fast Food Rockers-style pop to Tool material, when this isn't the case. Oh and the first album is magic! Who knew?
